About the Role:
Causeway Optical is seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated individual to join our growing optometry team as a Receptionist / Patient Services Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and is comfortable using computers. Prior reception experience is preferred by not required.
You will play a key role in creating a positive patient experience by managing front desk operations and assisting with pre-testing procedures that help our optometrists deliver exceptional care. If you enjoy working with people we would love to hear from you!
✅ What You Will Be Doing:
- Welcoming and assisting patients as they arrive
- Checking patients in and out of appointments
- Communicating with patients in person, by phone, and via email
- Scheduling appointments and managing billing and payments
- Providing general administrative support
- Cross-training in pre-testing services, including:
- Obtaining medical histories and medications
- Performing autorefraction
- Measuring intraocular pressure
- Capturing retinal images

- Customer-facing experience (reception experience is an asset)
- Strong computer and typing skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor
- Willingness to learn and follow clinical procedures
- Reliable, team-oriented, and detail-focused
