The effects of laser to a wound. Not even 2 minutes into his laser session and he says it feels good. Helping to promote healthy healing to an open wound.

This fella had a lot of deep tension in his thoracic sling, and through his back. Shortly after I stopped filming he cleared his lungs, this informed me that the release of the soft tissue within the thoracic sling finally allowed his lungs to work at optimum capacity. The correlation between the soft tissue we see, to the underlying tissue and organs is so important to understand.

Laser or red light therapy.

Side note: Wanted to catch the release, so I forgot to tuck in my cords. Haha, oops, no judgment.

The body absorbs red light the easiest. And when it comes to over sore or sensitive horses, I sometimes find myself attempting to do the impossible. Break down the negative attributes within the muscle to correct the muscle into a healthy, happy muscle. But, with some horses, I need the extra help. So out comes my trusty laser or also referred to as red light therapy tools.

As seen in the video here, this horse was not in it to win it. But you can see the signs of the laser taking effect. With a release in under a minute. He tends to attribute people to pain, which he isn't wrong. So, to be able to promote a happier, healthier internal, I use Laser to kick start the circulation and start correcting and healing the tough spots.

What can Laser do?

➡️ relieve pain
➡️ diminish inflammation
➡️ increase circulation
➡️ reset acupoints
➡️ assist tissue regeneration
➡️ wound and soft tissue injury healing
➡️ nerve regeneration

What does it help?

➡️ open wounds
➡️ scars
➡️ pulled and torn muscles and ligaments
➡️ arthritis
➡️ over exerted soft tissue
➡️ kissing spines
➡️ navicular

And a host of other smaller ailments to the body.

Essentially, cold laser is a critical aid in my toolbox. With 2 different cold laser devices. As seen here, a pad that I can cover larger areas at once with and a hand-held wand, which I can pinpoint smaller areas and acupoints.

It's just an all-around helpful tool in my kit.

After: It took all of a few minutes to release the mare's poll where tension was being created to cause such a dramatic affect on the nerve around the eye. But one happy mare once tension is released. Sometimes it's the small things that go unnoticed that are involved in a broader picture.

Before: The reaction tension in the poll can have on a horse. Note under the eye is twitching. Found this mare standing alone like this, so investigated to figure out the cause on my daily rounds one day. Holding a lot of tension in and around the poll on the right side. So I went to work to release. Obviously this tension was putting pressure on the maxillary nerve to create the spasm under the eye.

This handsome fella gave me a lovely example of working on loosening up for shoulder movement. Yes, pectorals are important to work and address inner (medial) movement of the shoulder.

New clients always welcome.

Absolutely! I see this a lot. Even in my own boy who is slowly regaining top line structure due to previous injuries and lack of conditioning through long period of time. Regular maintenance through therapy is extremely important for all our equine partners. This brings forth a very dynamic topic human vs horse.

Therapy isn't just physical, it's mental, mechanical, and emotional. Today after doing a ground session on how to properly move his body to perform such moves as a half pass, backing up, haunches in, and shoulder in, Dude had some amazing releases of tension. This tension was not only physically in his body, he had to work it out mechanically to get the movements asked, mentally to figure out what was being asked of him, and emotionally to not throw a fit about certain movements he didn't realize he can do on his own and unlearning poor movement. Therapy doesn't stop just because my hands aren't on the horse. Therapy is a whole 100% wellbeing of the animal. Homeostasis is the goal.

All creates great and small. When trouble comes around there is always a helping hand.. or 2. Not every day I get the chance to work on our own livestock. And that is a good thing. But tonight is a different story. This little girl needs some tlc.
