🎒📚 Back to school means heavier backpacks and longer hours at a desk—both of which can put extra stress on growing spines.

Here are a few tips to help keep kids (and parents!) moving and feeling their best this school year:
✅ Keep backpacks no more than 10–15% of body weight
✅ Use both straps so weight is evenly distributed
✅ Make sure the bag sits snug against the back, not hanging low
✅ Sit tall at desks with feet flat on the floor
✅ Keep screens at eye level to avoid hunching
✅ Take movement breaks every 30–60 minutes

Strong habits now = healthy spines for years to come! 🍎✏️

Wishing our patient Maria Linton good luck today and Sunday as she competes at the National Track and Field Championships. Maria will running in the 3000 and 5000 meter races. Maria recently placed first at the provincials.

On Monday, July 21, Sarah and friends are hosting a Backpacks for Kids donation drive outside Giant Tiger, Port Hope — filling the bed of Sarah’s Ram truck with school supplies for local children and youth.
