🎒 Is your child starting Kindergarten this September?

We’re excited to offer a Kindergarten Readiness: Hand Skills Group - a fun and supportive program designed to help kids feel confident and capable heading into their first year of school! This program will be run by Naama, our amazing Occupational Therapy Assistant.

This group is perfect for children who:
Would benefit from practice with fine motor tasks like cutting, colouring, or holding a pencil
Tire easily during crafts or table-top activities
Show frustration or avoid these types of tasks altogether

What we’ll focus on:
Strengthening hand and finger muscles
Improving coordination and pencil grasp
Practicing everyday school tasks like zippers, backpacks, and opening lunch containers

Program details:
🗓️ Thursdays, July 10 - August 14
⏱️ 9:30am - 10:15am
💰 $240 for 6 weeks
📍 PlayWorks Physio, Port Moody

*Intake Session Required:
A 1:1 intake session ($55) must be completed before July 10th to ensure the group is a good fit for your child.

New Perinatal Yoga Classes at PlayWorks Physio!

We’re excited to offer prenatal and postnatal yoga classes led by Dr. Amber, our chiropractor with specialized training in perinatal care.

Whether you're expecting or in the postpartum stage, these classes are designed to support your physical and emotional well-being. You’ll improve flexibility, reduce discomfort, and build strength in a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment.

📣 We are excited to announce that chiropractic services are now available at Playworks - and we are thrilled to welcome Dr. Amber to our team!

Dr. Amber brings experience in caring for babies, children, teens, and adults, with a gentle and family-centered approach.

She commonly supports babies with torticollis, tongue tie concerns, colic & constipation. Kids and teens with back pain, headaches & posture issues. Parents - you are also welcome to book an appointment with Dr. Amber alongside your child’s!

Here is a little bit about Dr. Amber:

Amber spent a number of years as a dental assistant before deciding to become a chiropractor. Amber’s first experience with chiropractic happened at 16 years old. After the first chiropractic adjustment Amber’s knee pain went away, as well as regular headaches. Amber continued regularly seeing a chiropractor for care during my years as a dental assistant.

Amber decided to become a chiropractor due to the want to do more to help the people around. Amber loves being able to help people feel better using methods that are very effective and specific to each individual.

During free time, Amber loves being outside, either hiking, trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, or camping.

Amber’s Availability
Tuesdays from 8:00am - 12:00pm
Thursdays from 8:00am - 12:00pm
Fridays from 1:30pm - 5:00pm

✂️🖍 Kindergarten Readiness: Hand Skills Group

Is your child entering Kindergarten this September? This fun and supportive group is perfect for kids who could use a little extra help with:

- Cutting ✂️
- Colouring 🎨
- Pencil grasp ✏️
- Using zippers, backpacks, and lunch containers 🎒

What we’ll focus on:
💪 Building hand strength and coordination
🧠 Practicing fine motor skills like drawing and cutting
🎯 Gaining confidence with common classroom tasks

🗓 When: Thursdays from 9:30–10:15 AM
📅 Starts: July 10 and runs for 6 weeks

👧👦 Who: Kids entering Kindergarten who may avoid or struggle with fine motor activities

💡 Each child starts with a 1:1 intake session to make sure the group is a great fit

🏠 Parents receive take-home tips and activities to support progress

Led by an OT Rehab Assistant, this group is designed to help your child feel ready and confident for their first year of school!
