Here's what happening at Extendicare Port Stanley around the Holidays this year!

From now until December 19th, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank. Then on the 19th at 6:30 we will be heading on a Christmas Light tour through our region where at one of our stops we will drop the donations off.

Also, our Christmas Spirit Days are back! Each day from December 20th to 25th there will be a theme and a festive snack available. Please check the poster to see what's happening each day and join in if you are able!

Lastly, our Resident & Family Christmas Party is on December 21st starting at 2pm in our dining room. Our good friend Wayne will be performing. There will also be lots of holiday goodies and Santa himself might be coming for a visit. We look forward to seeing everyone throughout the Holiday season!

WOW! May was such a fun month!
- We got to pie Barb, Craig, Elaine and Nancy in the face as a part of staff appreciation. (The videos were unfortunately corrupted)
- The Family Council donated their time and some beautiful flowers to clean up our front gardens and get them looking nice for summer.
- We celebrated all our mothers and grandmothers with a Mother's Day Tea.
- The Port Stanley Swans supported us with a huge donation.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our fun events or donated to our home during May. We appreciate everyone who participates and contributes to our community. We look forward to seeing everyone in June!

Now with our busy holiday season gone by, we would like to take the time to thank our Family Council and all their donors for helping us purchase our Obie projector. The Obie is an interactive projector with tons of games, activities and experiences for our residents to enjoy. We would not have been able to purchase one without all the generous donations from these awesome groups:

- The Aylmer Kinsmen Club
- The Lions Club of St. Thomas
- Port Stanley Home Hardware
- The Port Stanley Swans
- The Lions Club of Port Stanley
- The Lioness Club of Port Stanley
- The Port Stanley Fire Association
- Westminster Mutual Insurance

And all the individuals who made donations!

Thank you to everyone involved. The Obie is an amazing addition to our home. We encourage everyone to reach out if you are interested in learning more or coming in to check it out.

We want to send a huge thank you to everyone who donated CDs to our home over the last few days! We did not expect to receive so much so quickly and are overwhelmed by the generosity. At this time, however, we are running out of storage space and are no longer in need of more CDs. We received lots of awesome 50s, 60s and 70s music that our resident will be enjoying for years to come! Thank you! We cannot express how much we appreciate the support!

If you still have CDs you are looking to donate, please consider reaching out to another Long-Term Care home in the area to ask if they need them.

Hello!

We are currently on the hunt for some CDs. If you have any CDs from bands/artists out of the 1950s, 60s and 70s that you can bear to part with, please consider donating them to our home. Our population is getting a little younger and the big band music just isn't cutting it anymore. Please drop off any donations with attention to Duncan. Thank you!

A huge shoutout goes to everyone who participated in the Walk for Alzheimer's at Pinafore Park on Saturday, May 27th. Our Team "Sister Crew and Extendicare Too" was the top fundraising team with over $6500! Big Thanks to Deb Benner, Laurie Benner, Michelle Innes, Tom Benner, Bonnie Rochus, Pete Rochus, Ahmad Najdawi, Fiona Wynn, Elaine Helkaa, Elizabeth Branco, Kelly Helkaa, Justin Benner and Ann Walters for walking! Great job everyone!

Homemade Bench and Knitting Bowl Raffle! We recently had these amazing items donated for a raffle to raise money for the Resident's Program fund. The raffle opens today (Nov 7th) and will run until December 7th. Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. You can put tickets in to win either item. The tickets will be available at the Nursing Station for anyone interested in buying them.
