To our dearest customers…
This has been difficult to write, and I have been working on it for over a week. Many of you know that the store has been for sale since March, and after countless discussions, weighing out pros and cons, it is with a heavy heart that we have decided to close the store this November.
When we purchased the business from Barb, we never dreamt we would gain so much in our lives. This cozy little store has given us so much growth, knowledge, understanding and the most beautiful community we have connected with. The regular customers of this store are nothing short of incredible people. People that care about their health, their community and the better good of our planet. I have learned so much from working with all of you, and I’ve also learned that owning a small retail business is hard, 24/7, and that it doesn’t get easier as our boy gets older. The store has truly been a labour of love that has taken more of our energy than we can afford to spare at this time along with the state of our economics, smaller margins, increasing rent and competing with online shopping it no longer makes sense for our family.
As we move forward we will be focusing on our farm as a family. Offering consultations, an online store where we will continue to sell some of our favourite products, the lion’s mane mushrooms that we grow and capsulate, organic food, freeze dried products, natural healing products, along with offering different practices including sound baths, hot & cold therapy (cold plunge & sauna), breathwork and meditation, natural health seminars, retreats and more. Please follow our journey as we keep learning, changing and growing.

Our Mission

Housed in a Heritage building made of strawberry bricks, you’ll find “a little gem”. The Storehouse, is Port Stanley’s Health Food Store and more. We are also the home of Barb’s Brickle, Port’s own roasted trail mix. Available in three flavours, it is just one of the many natural and/or organic products you will discover in our little store.

My passion for natural health began years ago ... in the 80’s. When a macrobiotic diet completely reversed both my asthma and allergies, I was convinced that true health was found in nature. My personal mission has been to let everyone, with an ear to hear, know that pursuing health through natural means is a fulfilling and effective way to optimal health.

Our passion here at The Storehouse is to educate and serve our customers. Naturopathic Doctor, Kate Rheaume advises consumers to “shop where you can get your questions answered”. We seek to be that store. Whether you are looking for supplements, herbals, homeopathics, organic/natural cosmetics or you’re considering going Vegan or Keto, we can help you sift through all the information out there to find the right fit for you.
