Exciting news... we've partnered with the YMCA!

qathet School District was awarded the “ChildCareBC New Spaces Fund” by the Government of BC to help create new licensed child care spaces in our community. With this funding, we are able to offer 56 new child care spaces in total for children ages 0-5 at our Kelly Creek Community School and Edgehill Elementary locations. This project has been in the works for a long time, and we went to great lengths to find the right partnership with an independent child care operator.

We are thrilled to officially share the news with our community and announce that the YMCA is coming to the qathet region, aiming to be up and running early this fall. The buildings are getting their final touches ready for operations, but in the meantime, families can put their names on a waitlist with the YMCA here: https://www.gv.ymca.ca/child-care

Once everything is up and running, they will begin reaching out to families.

We’re just so excited to welcome the YMCA into our community and look forward to working together to help more families with their child care needs.
