We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Erik Dalton. From Tom:
Oh, Erik Dalton! Did you have to leave so quickly? I wanted to talk with you again, my big brother. I am sad in the heart to hear of my friend’s passing. He lived life full-throttle, so I shouldn’t be surprised that slowing down was not in the cards.
I’ve been in that pool, in the early days when they were trying to tempt me to Costa Rica too. The beautiful land fit him (and Terri, too, bless her), and though we never pitched up there, it was always fun to think of him and know where he was when he wasn’t in Oklahoma or on the road wowing his fans with his encyclopedic knowledge, wacky humor, and mastery of technique.
It was explicit - he was my big bro’; I was his lil bro, we called each other by those names. We first met on the road - AMTA conferences and the like where we both spoke frequently - and watched the fascial bodywork story grow and grow into the fascial research congresses and general knowledge, from our efforts, sure, along with so many other peoples’ work.
But it all works together to slowly move us toward a body aware society. Erik, your sense of rhythm took you into music, and it stayed with you throughout your bodywork career, making the tissues sing, the spine do harmonies, while the pelvis struts the bass.
Go in peace, my big brother. You taught me, you taught a lot of folks. Job well done.
