qathet Division of Family Practice Offering reliable healthcare information for everyone living in the qathet region. You can choose to work full time, half time or somewhere in between.

The purpose of this page is to provide reliable and accurate information about matters relating to healthcare in the qathet/Powell River area. We welcome questions, comments and interactions from the community or any physicians/nurse practitioners interested in practicing in our area. However, we reserve the right to remove any comments or posts that are not aligned with the stated purpose. INFO FOR PHYSICIANS: The region’s private practices vary greatly in both hours and size — from two to 16 physicians. Focus solely on your GP practice or compliment it by working in Emergency, Anesthesia, Maternity, as well as joining the rotating OR assist schedule.

If you're new to qathet and don't have a local family physician or nurse practitioner, the Health Connect Registry (HCR) can help you get one.

If you've never registered - or registered in another town, but have since moved - visit healthlinkbc.ca/find-care/health-connect-registry to add or update your personal information.

You can also call 8-1-1 if you prefer to register over the phone.

Either way, don't delay! The HCR is the fastest way to get connected with a local primary care provider.

✅If you're one of the 3 out of 10 British Columbians currently living without a family doctor, travelling out of town, or relying on phone appointments, then we encourage you to join the Health Connect Registry.
