Our kids room is done and ready for some play based interventions.
Play-based learning is crucial. Therapy is much less intimidating with play-based approaches. Multisensory engagement enhances cognitive processing and increases out chances of success. (Plus its fun!)

💡Is it intuition… or just a coincidence?
💫Anxiety… or a message we needed to hear? 🤔

A client came into session recently feeling stuck. Life felt flat, directionless. No drive, no clarity. They shared that they don’t believe in God or the spiritual world — not really. But a friend had randomly asked them to pull a tarot card. Just for fun.

And what happened?

The card spoke to them. It was one of those moments you can’t ignore. Not the usual anxious spiral of “what if I fail?” or “is this enough?” — but something quieter.
Something deeper.
Something that made them pause and ask:
💭 Am I living in alignment?
💭 What choices am I making — and why?
💭 Is this fear… or something I need to explore?

In that moment, I asked if they’d be open to pulling a card from my affirmation deck — a gentle tool I sometimes use in session.
I told them:
Whatever message comes up — let it be a guiding principle for the week. Something to reflect on. A subtle check-in with what your energy is asking for.

They agreed. And — like always — the card hit home.

Today, I pulled a card too. Mine read:
“I allow my intuition to guide me.”

🤔

That one stopped me.

Because if I’m honest — it made me realize that maybe, just maybe, anxiety has been winning lately. That I haven’t been slowing down enough to listen. That I’ve been reacting, moving, fixing… but not really checking in.

The card invited me to ask myself:
💭 When was the last time you felt that deep inner knowing?
💭 How did you respond to it?
💭 And what’s one small thing you can do today to reconnect with your intuitive self?

For me, that one thing might be turning off the noise. Taking a breath. Trusting the pause.

Therapy isn’t always about big breakthroughs. Sometimes it’s about subtle moments that bring us back to ourselves — back to the quiet wisdom we’ve carried all along.

If you’re feeling lost, anxious, or unsure — maybe it’s not about doing more.
Maybe it’s about listening differently. 🎬

Struggling with Anxiety? Let’s Talk Coping Strategies!

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, but there are ways to manage it. Here are a few ideas to help calm your mind:

✨ Grounding Techniques – Try the 5-4-3-2-1 method: Name 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you hear, 2 things you smell, and 1 thing you taste.

✨ Breathe It Out – Box breathing (inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4) can help regulate your nervous system.

✨ Move Your Body – A quick walk, stretching, or even shaking out your hands can release built-up tension.

✨ Get It Out of Your Head – Journaling or talking to someone you trust can help lighten the mental load.

✨ Limit Stimulants – Caffeine and too much social media can heighten anxiety. Try swapping your coffee for herbal tea or taking a screen break.

When Music Speaks for Us

Ever hear a song and think, Wow, that’s exactly how I feel? Music has this incredible way of putting emotions into words when we can’t quite find them ourselves. Whether it’s heartbreak, healing, joy, or struggle, lyrics can validate our experiences and remind us we’re not alone.

Sometimes, a song can say what we’ve been trying to express for years. It can feel like a hug, a battle cry, or a deep exhale. That’s the power of music—it makes us feel seen, understood, and connected.

✨ Ending Sunday with Intention ✨

As the weekend winds down, it’s a great time to pause and set yourself up for a good week ahead. Whether it’s planning meals, setting goals, journaling, or simply taking a deep breath before the Monday rush—small moments of preparation can make all the difference.

I like to review my week and double check my schedule - "tidy" the house, have a nice bath & climb into a bed with fresh linens and a cup of tea for a game of SUDUKO.
