------------------------------------------

The month of March is dedicated to celebrating the French language and the richness of Francophone cultures around the world. La Francophonie Month highlights the vibrancy, heritage, and shared identity carried through French.

This year’s theme, “active ta francophonie,” encourages engagement and connection within the Francophone community. It’s an opportunity to appreciate, learn, and celebrate a language that brings people together, especially here in Canada.

Lisa Bos-Atchison, Managing Funeral Director at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, is no stranger to community involvement and giving back to the community. She has coordinated, directed and lead our team’s involvement at Gray’s Funeral Chapel in many local community events and community donations. She continues that with her involvement with the Rotary Club of Prince Albert.

And she has also extended that commitment to our community by being a part of the 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert. This collective of 100 local women who want to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors, recently made significant donations of $10,000 to the River Valley Resilience Retreat and Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan.

We are very proud to have Lisa as a member of our team and appreciate the work that she and the 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert do for our local community.

Member Spotlight: Meet Lisa Atchison 🕊️❤️

Our group is made up of women who lead with incredible empathy and professionalism, and today we are so proud to feature Lisa Bos-Atchison.

As the Managing Director of Gray’s Funeral Chapel and River Park Funeral Home, Lisa’s daily life is dedicated to supporting families with the utmost care. She brings that same spirit of service to our 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert family.

Lisa shares a beautiful perspective on why this group resonates with her:

"As a funeral professional, I value compassion and precision; as a neighbour, I value community and heart. 100 Women Who Care is the perfect fusion—an efficient, high-impact, and caring initiative, serving our community and amplifying our individual contributions into something much greater than ourselves.
It's not just funding, it's fortifying the very essence of our community. It is such a privilege to be alongside so many wonderful women, working together to make a difference."

Lisa, we are the ones who feel privileged to have your "community and heart" as part of this group. Thank you for everything you do to fortify Prince Albert!

Please help us show Lisa some appreciation in the comments! 👇✨

Gray’s Funeral Chapel is dedicated to supporting Prince Albert and area, not only for families experiencing the loss of a loved one, but beyond to local groups and organizations that are assisting those going through difficult times.

Our own Mary MacWilliams has extended that commitment by joining 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert. This collective of 100 local women who want to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors, recently made significant donations of $10,000 to the River Valley Resilience Retreat and Ronald McDonald House Saskatchewan.

We are very proud to have Mary as a member of our team, and appreciate the work that she and the 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert do for our local community.

Member Spotlight: Meet Mary MacWilliams 🕊️💫

Our group is filled with women who dedicate their lives to helping others, and Mary MacWilliams is a perfect example of that quiet, steady compassion.

As an Embalmer and Funeral Director, Mary’s professional life is centered around providing care and support to families during their most difficult moments. She brings that same servant-heart to 100 Women Who Care Prince Albert.

For Mary, being part of this group is all about discovery and the reward of giving back:
"I enjoy helping others, so joining 100 Women Who Care was the perfect group to be a part of. This group has opened my eyes to the many amazing organizations that are in our area. It’s rewarding to be able to help these organizations help others."

Mary, we love having your perspective in our group! Thank you for the care you provide to our community in your career and for your commitment to lifting up local organizations alongside us.

Congratulations to our assistant manager Colette Harnett and her Swinging With The Stars dancing partner Kara Thorpe. Colette and Kara were dancing this past Saturday to raise funds for Hope's Home - an organization providing medically inclusive child care and supportive living for children with complex medical needs..

Despite Colette claiming she has no dance experience, she and Kara were awarded with the Judges' Choice for best performance. Speaks volumes to Kara and Prince Albert Dance Academy for her training.

We were proud to sponsor and support Colette and Kara, as they took the stage in Swinging with the Stars Prince Albert in support of Hope’s Home!

As we celebrate the diversity that strengthens our multicultural communities, we honour the many traditions that bring people together in meaningful and heartfelt ways.

This season holds special significance for those observing Nowruz and Eid, both of which reflect themes of renewal, reflection, and hope.

May these celebrations, and all cultural traditions, bring peace, unity, and warmth to you and your loved ones.

Thinking about the future isn’t easy, but planning ahead is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give your family. Pre‑planning ensures your wishes are honoured and helps ease emotional and financial stress during a difficult time.

By making important choices now, like whether to choose burial or cremation or which type of service you want, you can spare your family uncertainty and distress later. You can also lock in today’s prices and protect them from rising costs.

Planning ahead offers clarity, comfort, and protection. If you’re ready to explore your options, our team is here to guide you with care.
