Keith Andersen (June 5, 1944 - April 17, 2026)
After years of entertaining us with his jokes, stories, and impressive dance moves, Keith Andersen took his final bow on April 17, 2026.
Keith was born on June 5, 1944 to Helen and Ivan Andersen, and he spent his early years in the small town of Sinclair Mills. It was there he built memories that would stay with him and be shared for years to come.
As a teenager, he made the move to the “big city” to attend high school at PGSS and later attend UBC, where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree and formed friendships that would last a lifetime. After beginning his career with Arthur Andersen and obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation, Keith returned north to join the family business, continuing to build not only a successful career, but also a wide circle of close, valued friends.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lynn, the woman he adored so much that, even as his memory faded, he made his kids swear to never let him forget flowers for every Valentine’s Day, birthday, and anniversary. She was his world, and she kept their dates going to the very end.
Also left to remember (and possibly take credit for his once-dark hair turning grey) are his three kids: Jen (Waylon), Erik (Natalie), and Holly. His grandchildren - Ivan, Ellie, Ally, Zachary, Quinn, Emily, and Jessie - were his true pride and joy. Whether he was cheering extra loudly at their hockey and baseball games, playing Barbie’s, coloring masterpieces, or sneaking in extra cuddles, Papa was always there.
His partner-in-crime was his brother, Gord (Theresa), who he was always proud to sit beside at every board meeting or family dinner, sharing jokes and maybe a little mischief. He loved to make his ever-caring sister Ethel (Les) laugh. And, of course, all his cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws were as much a part of his heart as they were his stories.
To his golfing buddies, both those still here and those who surely welcomed him with a fresh set of clubs and a cold pint, thank you. You gave him one last great game before the Alzheimer’s took over, and he cherished every round with you. We know he’s already scouting the best fairways on the other side.
To his work family, you kept him laughing and proud every single day. From his Apollo crews in the ‘80s, to his Lakeland family in the ‘90s and early 2000’s, and his Sinclar buddies until retirement, you brought him so much joy. Whether it was swapping stories, celebrating weddings, recommending songs, or sharing jokes he couldn’t wait to repeat, you were a huge part of his life. You made the long hours more than worthwhile.
To all his business partners over the past 50 years - the Stewarts, Killys, Shaws, Manojlovics, Scotts, Larsens, and others - thank you for the partnerships and the shared stories.
We are deeply grateful to Dr. Wooldridge and all the care aides, staff, and nurses at Gateway Complex Care. You cared for Keith with kindness and treated him like family throughout the past 5 years. Your dedication and compassion made his final years comfortable, and we truly appreciate you all.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider donating to your favorite charity. Keith was always impressed with the work done by local charities such as the Prince George Community Foundation, Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society, The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, and the Kordyban Lodge – Canadian Cancer Society, to name a few.
We are still planning the details for his celebration of life. We will let you know when and where when plans have been made.
Cheers to a life well lived!
