I am truly blessed to practice Rolfing®. Receiving work from my Rolfer™️ has been one of many gifts I am grateful for everyday. I am excited to be able to facilitate this practice to my current and future clients and be a part of their journey in getting their bodies feeling better and working efficiently, moving with ease and fluidity. I feel that allowing my clients to have knowledge and awareness about their bodies is a good solid foundation of being empowered to heal mind, body and spirit. When the body feels good and eased of pain, the mind can focus on many possibilities and wonderment the body is capable of doing which allows our soul and spirit to be lifted to a new level of joy.
What is Rolfing?
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a soft tissue manipulation and movement education. This form of bodywork affects the body’s posture, alignment, function, and structure by way of myofascial system (connective tissue). Often considered a deep-tissue approach. Rolfing® works with all the layers of the body to ease strain patterns in the entire system. Rolfing® aides in reducing chronic pain, muscle tension and stress by helping the body move and work efficiently and allowing the muscle to do the job it is meant to do. Example would be, one do not need to use their gluteus and quad muscles to open a jar of pickles, nor one need their calf muscles, or jaw muscles to write an email sitting down in front of the computer.
Rolfing® is a modality people seek out as a way to reduce pain and chronic muscle tension, generally resulting from physical and emotional traumas. Rolfing is useful to all walks of life; young and young at heart, able and non/limited-able bodies, male and female. Rolfing® is also used by many professional athletes to break up scar tissue, rehabilitate injuries, and increase range of motion to improve performance and avoid future injuries. Other professionals such Health Care workers, Teachers, Labourers, Dancers, Musicians are among of the many professions who often use the work to increase increase comfort in their bodies while performing/working, as well as avoid repetitive stress injuries. Based on the mind/body connection, many counsellors and therapists incorporate Rolfing® in the therapeutic approach. Greater physical support and flexibility ultimately influences emotions and energy levels.
