Welcome to The Oyster Papery, a little hand lettering and watercolour shop in Northern British Columbia, Canada. Out of a difficult time, I began to start calligraphy with a little set my husband received as a Christmas gift and some old watercolour paints. Painting and creating became a way to heal and creating brought joy again slowly but steadily. Cre

ating and working on this, has been a reminder to me, that out of ashes comes beauty (Isaiah 61:3) and healing is possible with intention. Several years ago, I learned about oysters. Did you know 1 oyster can filter up to 50 gallons of water a day?! The powerful mollusks change the waters and estuaries in which they live. I thought this to be such fitting imagery for what we as persons are also capable of doing - changing the tide and culture around us making it all the more worthwhile, lovelier and more habitable. I hope these pieces can do just a little bit of that for the corners of your homes and work places. Each piece is hand lettered and painted. I digitize them and they are all printed locally in Prince George, B.C., Canada.
