My Mission:

Pain can be frustrating, scary, exhausting, or a combination of all of these things; It can decrease your quality of life. My goal is to p

rovide this community with excellent therapy for imbalances and pain in the body, that in turn will improve their levels of fitness to live a healthier and happy life! I will use Manual Therapy and Exercise Training to help you improve your quality of life. It is my mission to show you how happy and healthy Manual and Exercise Therapy can make you! Taking care of your body is an important part of maintaining or improving fitness, and Manual Therapy treatments are one of the best ways to give your body the care it needs! Combine these treatments with fitness programs aimed to achieve your personal goals, and you will be on the path to a life of wellness. Manual Therapy is a safe and gentle hands on form of healing which focuses on the interrelationship between structure and function of the body. It includes soft tissue therapy, muscle energy techniques, and gentle mobilization aimed to relieve pain, increase range of motion, reduce stress, and help the individual increase their overall wellness. It does this by increasing space in the joints to decrease pressure and pain, lengthening muscles and ligaments for mobility and flexibility, and working out adhesions and trigger points that are the source of pain in tight muscles. It doesn't stop there! With Manual Therapy you will begin to be more flexible, mobile, and with a decrease in pain, there will be an increase in the ability to become more active. The focus can then become on increasing your fitness level, while maintaining this mobility, flexibility, and decreased level of pain. Fitness training will then help you reach your goals with specific exercises and workout plans that are created just for you and your body's personal needs! Start today, and bring together rehabilitation and fitness for a healthier, happier you!

I am unsure how, but I already have a 6 Month Old!! 😭

Hello 👋🏻 it’s been forever since I have posted and reached out to the social media community. I am here still and slowly getting a hang of this two kids thing!

My baby girl Charlotte joined us October 1, 2022 and I have been on maternity leave since then. Today I am posting to let you know I am slowly returning to work and have started back with my Strength for Longevity class this week! As I figure out a return to work routine, I will keep you posted on what I am able to offer in the coming weeks.

Looking forward to getting back into the things I love, and reconnecting with my clientele 🥰

Drink the milkshake!! No shame or regrets. It’s okay to enjoy what we eat and for our diet to not always be “perfect”.

Yes fuelling our body properly makes a huge difference on our overall health. Anyone who is fully committed to healthy eating 24/7 can confirm how much better they feel overall when they do fuel their bodies well.

But there are times when it doesn’t suit our lifestyle to eat that way. There are events that come up. And it’s alright to give ourselves a break and enjoy what we eat 😊 don’t force something that doesn’t work for you!!

Sometimes workouts look a little more like chasing after a toddler on the pool deck rather than lifting weights, and that’s perfectly fine!

Remember there’s so many ways to stay active. As long as we are trying our best to keep moving, we are doing our body a favour 😊

Quick fixes do not work. There’s nothing else to say. If they did, everyone in the world would have the “perfect” body or “perfect” life.

What does matter is that we focus on what OUR body needs. That’s different for everyone, but in the picture above are a few examples of how we can take care of our body and mind!

Have a great Wednesday everyone! 🤗

32 Weeks! As the time gets closer for our second baby to arrive, my presence on social media will decline again.

I will be taking time again to be present with my family, especially in the last couple weeks before the arrival of our newest addition. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

For now my classes will continue to run for the rest of the summer, and once I take a step back, classes will be covered by other trainers until I am able to return back to work! Please reach out if you have any questions or need any clarification 😊

❕POSTED WITH PERMISSION ❕

Headline: NO MORE COMPARING YOUR BODY WITH SOMEONE ELSE’S!!!! 🎤🎤

PLEASE NOTE: These two athletes are coming off 4+ years of high level year round training. This includes practices and workouts daily, as well as weekend competitions during the season, and heavy workouts in the off season. The training doesn’t stop and more often than not the athletes are working in a deficit (which means they are burning more than they are consuming). This is not necessarily a sustainable body type and in no way is this post promoting a specific body type or image. The pictures are simply being used as an example of some very important points.

Case study: 2 College Athletes, similar genetics as they are relatives, same height, very close weight, identical training schedules and routines, similar eating/hydration habits, very similar metabolism, photos taken in the off season in 4th and 5th years of collegiate sport (almost same age).

So why do the bodies look completely different? These two athletes ate the same, did the same workouts, had similar schedules, heck they even have some similarities when it comes to genetics/anatomy! What is going on here?

A lot of things are going on. But no point rings louder and clear in this case study; WE CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT COMPARE OUR BODY TO SOMEONE ELSE. Doing someone else’s workout hoping for the results they earned is setting yourself up for failure or disappointment (not in all cases, and movement is movement regardless of what it is, but that’s a whole different subject altogether).

Even with all the similarities between these athletes, the pictures show different results. When you are setting goals for yourself, it is important that we focus on ourselves and what is achievable for our body. Leaving comparison on the back burner is hard with the amount of exposure we have on social media to the “ideal” body type. But as long as we keep reminding ourselves of this, and focus on ourselves, the lifestyle we want to live, the experiences we’ve had that have shaped us, then we are heading in the right direction ☺️

Terrible quality photos, but you’ll get the point 😂

This is me at 28 weeks pregnant for both pregnancies. The left photo is me in my first pregnancy. A couple points to remember:

1. My training/workouts have been very similar. I would say I have even been slightly more committed this time around.

2. Therapy has been almost exactly the same. Regular massages, pelvic floor Physio, Chiro, stretching, etc.

3. I feel very similar movement wise and anatomy wise. Pain is minimal; some discomfort when I move quickly or twist forgetting that I’m pregnant 🤦🏼‍♀️

4. My eating is similar to last time. Haven’t had a ton of crazy cravings so my second trimester when the morning sickness was done with I was able to eat the same as my first pregnancy; which is fairly balanced meals and my usual snacking habits.

But yet when you look at these photos you will see a completely different body. Why? Millions of reasons including: second pregnancy, different time of year, baby in slightly different position, different clothes between the pictures AND different lighting, I am standing slightly off from the first photo, etc.

My point is we cannot compare bodies, not even our own. We can compare circumstances and take a look at what has changed over time with our routine and lifestyle, but it’s impossible to look at a picture of your old self, or someone else, and work towards that particular body type. It’s okay to want to see changes in your body, to want to be healthy and set goals. And it’s okay to look back and see where you’ve come from. But it’s very important that we recognize what we are doing today and who we are in the moment and plan according to where we are at. Those old days are gone! And someone else’s lifestyle and anatomy isn’t yours.

Focus on YOU, and YOUR present!

Home sweet home!

I love vacations, but I sure do miss the consistency of being at home ❤️ I took time off of working out; didn’t stress about what I ate when I ate it; and focussed on being present with my family. A much needed break, and I loved every second of it!

Now that I’m home the focus is on getting back “on track” slowly. I plan to do that by increasing my hydration, and moving my body a little bit everyday. Once I get those two things consistent I’ll focus on adding a couple more things in, such as increasing my protein intake which depends on MY specific needs, and specific workouts that will line up with my fitness goals (which for me right now are to keep up with a toddler and new baby on the way). I know I won’t be perfect because I have other events coming up and that’s okay too!

Thanks for your patience while I was gone! I’m working my way through messages this week and will get back to you all as soon as I can! ❤️
