It feels like something’s missing now
Each time I walk in through the door,
No gentle paws come hurrying
Softly across the kitchen floor.

Moving on is not so easy,
Heaven knows how much I’ve tried,
But every room feels cold and still
Without you curled up by my side.

I know you’re somewhere special now,
Where sunbeams warm you as you play,
But that can’t stop me missing you
Every single, aching day.

They say a dog’s a man’s best friend,
But you, my cat, out-loved that part,
You’ve left me precious memories
