Community Connections at East Cumberland Lodge!

We are thrilled to welcome seniors from our local community to join our Community Connections Program! This iniative invites older adults to take part in recreation programs right here at East Cumberland Lodge, sharing in the laughter, learning and friendship that make our home so special.

Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support the social, physical, spiritual, cognitive and emotional well-being of all who participate. Whether its a game ,a craft, a movement session or a moment of reflection, there is something for everyone to enjoy and connect over.
We love seeing friendships bloom and our community grow stronger together!

Halloween fun was on full display at The Lodge today! Our residents and staff enjoyed a spooktacular afternoon filled with laughter, games and plenty of treats.
A highlight was our Mummy Wrapping Contest. Prizes were won, costumes shown off, and everyone had a frightfully good time celebrating together.

Cowboy Town came to visit!
Residents were all smiles this morning as miniature horses and pups trotted up for a gentle pat.
It was a wonderful morning filled with laughter, country charm and plenty of "awws". Thank you to Cowboy Town for bringing the spirit of the West right to our doorstep!

Honoring our amazing team during Continuing Care Month!

This month we celebrate the heart of our home - our incredible staff! From nursing, dietary, recreation, environmental services, rehab, maintenance and administration- your dedication, compassion, and teamwork make all the difference in the lives of our residents each and every day.

The theme for this year's Continuing Care Month is "Standing Alongside Nova Scotians with Compassion, Comfort and Care," a perfect reflection of the care and kindness our team shows daily.

Throughout October, we have been showing our appreciation with special treats, themed lunches and prize draws - all to say thank you for the care and commitment you bring to your work.

Today we gathered to celebrate our retirees and recognize long-term service award recipients - a wonderful reminder of the dedication and loyalty that make our home such a special place to live and work.

We did our best last week to keep our residents happy and engaged but we now have great news...
We are happy to share that Public Health has officially declared our outbreak over!
We're so grateful to our residents, families, staff and community for their patience and support during this time.
Now we are excited to welcome back our Community Connections Programs! Come join us- it's time to reconnect, participate and share in the joy of being together.

Our Community Connections program will be paused for a short time while we manage a minor outbreak in the home. Everyone is doing well, and this is just a precautionary measure to help keep residents, families and visitors safe and healthy.
We'll be back in action very soon (stay tuned for announcements on this page) with all the smiles, laughter and great moments that make our programs so special.
