Fun with Food was in full swing yesterday! Residents rolled up their sleeves to make warm, golden apple turnovers - the kitchen filled with the most wonderful aroma of apples cooking. While the turnovers baked, we gathered around the table with cups of London Fog tea, sharing laughter, stories and great conversation. From sharing laughter with a friend, to taking part in programs that spark creativity, learning and fun, our residents remind us that there is so much life, love and connection within these walls. Our Community Connection program was offered this afternoon. Sarah Parrell PT, offered an interesting presentation titled ‘Exercise Prescription for Older Adults focusing on Strength’

As the summer winds down, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible students who have worked with us over the past 6 months in almost every department of our home.
Each of you brought your own unique skills, perspectives, and personalities, but what you all shared was an energy and enthusiasm that made a lasting impact on the lives of our residents. From lending a helping hand to sharing a smile, your contributions have been felt in countless ways.

What a fun and colorful day at ECL! Our student led a tie-dye shirt making program, and the residents loved getting creative with all the bright colors and patterns. The best part? Watching them proudly model their one of a kind t-shirts with huge smiles.

What a fantastic day at the Lodge. Our amazing summer student, led an adapted volleyball game. The beach ball action brought so many smiles and laughs! Everyone had a blast keeping the ball in the air, showing off their skills and cheering each other on.

Residents had front row seats to one of our favorite programs of the year, our Childrens Fashion Show. The smiles were contagious as our little models showed off their outfits with confidence and charm.
Moments like these remind us how special it is to bring generations together. The presence of children in our home brightens spirits, sparks memories and creates connections that warm everyone’s heart.

Our residents had a ball with a new adapted pool/snooker program designed just for them! Thanks to the creativity of our summer student, the game was tailored so everyone could join in the fun. regardless of ability. The room was full of laughter, friendly competition and plenty of cheers as shots were made.
Programs like this remind us that with a little innovation, classic games can be enjoyed by all ages. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
