Just an update from Sunnyholme Fainters. We have sold/rehomed several goats but still have some to go. Hoping we can find them all wonderful new homes sooner rather than later and have reduced prices even more to help this happen. It must be noted, these are not rejects or culls. They are quality Mini Silky Fainters, all registered and will bring great bloodlines to your herd. We just can’t do the physical part of caring for them due to our own infirmities.

We have Sunnyholme Jumpin’ Jack Flash, a two year old proven buck. He is white and sandy brown with blue eyes and a very nice coat and this year put blue eyes on his kids. We are offering him for $400.00

We have Sunnyholme CMZ Tippy (Brownie). She is a 7 year old doe, beautiful chocolate brown with a white tip on her tail, very sweet dispositioned. She has 2 buckling kids on her, one completely black, the other chamoisee with white and black. They are 6 weeks old now and will soon be weaned. We are offering all three for $1000.00.

We have Sunnyholme CMZ Susanna (Susu), a 6 year old doe, white with gold face markings. She has a black/white doeling and a beige/brown buckling on her. They should wean in the next four weeks or so. Offering all three for $1,200.00. The goats are located in Port Howe, N.S. Delivery is a possibility, depending on location and we will ship at buyers expense. Please message with any questions.

Well Facebook friends, we have made a hard decision. We were not going to do this till next year but health reasons have come up so we are shutting down Sunnyholme Fainters as soon as we can 😞. Nothing life threatening but debilitating to the extent we can’t look after the goats as they deserve. This means that we have to sell/rehome our herd. We are prepared to do pretty good deals to facilitate this so now is the time to act. We need to know they are all in homes that will love them as much as we do. We have kids and mamas, yearlings and bucks. All beautiful and registered or will be registered. Some must go together as they are truly bonded. Please message if interested.

Well, 2024 kidding season is over for Sunnyholme Fainters. Bittersweet to say the least. We lost 3 kids and 1 mama, and that is heartbreaking. But we have 8 adorable kids to love on so are thankful for that. We used 2 new bucks and they produced some colour combinations we had not seen before. Jo-Ann will be contacting folks on our waiting list so if you think you are on it but don’t get a call please reach out.

Very happy today at sunnyholme Fainters. 5 of 6 does have just been confirmed bred! The 6th might just be too early yet to see anything with ultrasound. After our very poor result last season (3 bucklings) we are hoping for lots of kids. Only one of the does is a ff so really hoping for multiples from the rest. No firm due dates but thinking late April/early May. We shall see. 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐❤️

Sunnyholme Fainters welcomes Rosengard Ranch Alora and Rosengard Ranch Alannis to the herd! These two girls flew as unaccompanied minors with Westjet Cargo from Winnipeg and arrived this afternoon. They bring new genetics to our herd and will make beautiful babies when they are old enough. Thank you to Shannon Bell for making them available to us (and for getting them to the airport for 5 am). They were a bit reluctant to leave their crate but I’m sure they will soon realize we are not dangerous.

The beginning of our new buck barn! Not in great shape right now but when Bill gets finished it will be beautiful. We need a new place for our boys to hang out. We lost some of our senior guys recently but fortunately we had retained a son from each of them.
Have been having an ongoing issue with we don’t really know what causing deaths. Have had our hay and water analyzed and dealing with that, have copper bolused and checked minerals. Goats are much more delicate than people realize!
We only had three bucklings born, as three of our does did not catch! Will try again with them and the yearling bucks.

First babies of 2023 for Sunnyholme Fainters. Snickerdoodle (lighter) and Gingersnap. Snickerdoodle is spoken for and we are leaving Gingersnap intact as he’s just too pretty to wether. He is available as a buck. We have also decided to leave the horns on these two. They are quite small with tiny little heads and we didn’t have a good feeling about disbudding. Their mom wasn’t too interested in feeding them and snickerdoodle was getting pushed off the teat by his more assertive brother so Jo-Ann put him on the bottle. He very quickly became a lap baby.

Hi everyone...our new website is up and running. Same address as before, sunnyholmefainters.com
I "found" a great person to manage it for me, I want to thank Tikvah Mendorff of Duskwood Farm for all her help and knowledge. Neither Jo-Ann or I are very tech savvy and so we are very happy to now have someone who is!
Thanks also to Cheyenne for steering us Tikvah's way.
Check us out!

Yesterday was busy. Had 13 kids disbudded. It was an assembly line. Each kid was weighed, then sedated according to their weight. Once asleep their heads were shaved, they each got a penicillin, their Tasvax and a pain relief shot. Then a nerve block injection around the horn buds and the buds burned. Next a reversal of the sedation and they were up and back with mama in a matter of minutes. It's the first time we've had it done by the vet and how we will do it from now on. Much easier on everyone. The vets worked hard for sure. Photo shows the first group sleeping, ready for the procedure. Some of the mama's looked on anxiously, some of them didn't seem in the least bit concerned.

Just a quick question...for those of you who have bought/will be buying goats. Would being able to use your credit card be helpful?

Hi everyone, long time no news. We have just discovered that our website has gone "blooey", technical term for royally effed and we can't access our full waiting lists! We are trying to piece things together but neither Joann or I are very tech savvy so please, get in touch if you are waiting to hear from us. We had 7 lovely mamas bless us with 14 beautiful babies so you can imagine the chaos. We are retaining 2 doelings and 1 buckling, leaving 11 looking for new pastures. 4 girls, 7 boys. We had a good amount of colour variation and some blue eyes and will post pics when we get their glamour shots. Disbudding is happening in a week or so, if you want one with horns you will have to speak up soon. (Payment in full is required to leave the horns on). Cheers
