We live in a world where reality is distorted and everything is just a matter of perception.

If you are open, life only provides opportunity.

The opportunity to grow, teach, learn and create, understand, forgive, accept and love.

It is important to be mindful of the type of people you surround yourself with, and the distractions in your life. (social media, tv etc).

If you aren’t constantly learning, then you aren’t growing and evolving but stagnating like algae bloom on a pond.

Tulsi 🌱( also known as holy basil) Closely related to sweet basil is a plant with a rich history of use as a healing herb in ayurvedic medicine in India.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The medicinal properties of tulsi have been studied in hundreds of scientific studies.
Many of the physiological benefits of tulsi can be attributed to its ability to assist with the body's internal housekeeping and protection of the body from toxin-induced damage. These functions are often attributed to tulsi's high content of phenolic compounds and anti-oxidant properties
Tulsi (holy basil) is Considered as a potent adaptogen, (helps the body adapt to stress) and has a unique combination of pharmacological actions that promote wellbeing and resilience.

Happy Winter Solstice Everyone!❤️

Winter Solstice celebrates the “return of the light”.
After dec 21 our days will begin to grow longer and will continue to do so until we reach the summer solstice again in June.
The longer days will eventually bring warmth, growth and the abundance of organic produce once again. ❤️

There are so many diets out there Keto, Vegan, anti nutrient, Carnivore etc.
Diets don’t last, but they can be useful clinical tools for people with underlying health issues and are unlikely to be a long term life diet. (Some outliers exist).
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
MY DIET: 🌱
I eat pretty much anything as long as my performance mentally and physically doesn’t get hampered and I don’t count calories.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I like to focus on:
1. High Quality protein
2. Diversity of plants (for micronutrients)
3. Fermented foods ( for gut health and strong healthy microbiome bacteria )
4. High quality fats (tallow, grass fed butter, avocado, olive etc).
Incorporating some Raw foods (for enzymes).
5. Unprocessed real food with minimal Ingredients that are easy to pronounce listed on a package.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I always emphasize organic sources, pastured and from animals that are ethically treated and fed a biologically correct diet.

I avoid eating when stressed out and chew my food sufficiently.

I eat a variety of foods not just repeatedly eating the same foods daily

I emphasize colour on my plate. Knowing I’m getting a variety of micronutrients and antioxidants.

I eat mindfully, consciously choosing what I want to eat and avoiding rushing to finish a meal.

I like to balance raw foods with cooked. (Cooking destroys enzymes).

I like to do at least 12 hours of fasting daily.

Incorporate wild foraged mushrooms, berries and plants.

I don’t drink fluids with my meals. (It’s best to consume 30 minutes before or after meals- so you don’t interfere with digestion by diluting stomach acid).

I love farmers markets and CSA boxes. Get to Know your farmers, Be grateful you are fortunate enough to be eating in a world where there are 800 million starving.

You may not feel good eating the way I do but take some ideas and try them out for yourself. ❤️

“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”
- Alvin Toffler

How teachable you are will be a determining factor in the expression of your behaviours and choices of which will ultimately determine your reality.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The true mark of an educated person is the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn. We must be open to challenging our own beliefs and the possibility that what we always thought was correct or right may not be the case. This is when you allow growth to occur in your life.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Ask more questions; trade cleverness for curiosity and be humble. Don’t be afraid to question your own belief systems, for new ideologies, this is how we progress and evolve as a species. ❤️

Food is much more than the sum of its parts - it’s INFORMATION
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Food speaks to our genes – it turns them on and off. There are millions of molecules of information in every bite of food that get translated by our genes into cellular instructions.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The food you eat is not just energy but information or instructions or code that literally controls almost every function of your body—including your hormones, appetite, brain chemistry, immune system, gene expression, and even your microbiome with every single bite. And that the quality of the information matters more than the quantity. The composition of the food you eat is what matters.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
1. Prioritize ORGANIC, UNPROCESSED foods.
2. Diversify your diet: paint your plate with the colours of the rainbow: This ensures you are getting a wide range of phytonutrients. (Beneficial chemical compounds).
3. Steer away from factory farming and conventionally raised meats: opt for ethical grass fed and wild sources.

In this study just two doses of psilocybin were enough to put people with major depressive disorder into remission.
This is the true headline that should be on the news and there should be advertisements for mushrooms, not prescription drugs.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Psilocybin’s potential as a standard go to antidepressant is based on root cause/ healthy brain reorganization approach.
Contrasted to the bandaid approach of conventional antidepressants which:
1. Are NOT made for long term use
2. Carry potential for significant side effects.
3. Marginally efficacious compared to placebos (they don’t work that well).

Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t just all about the food you eat.

It also includes:

1. Your thoughts and mindset, and the way you perceive the circumstances you find yourself in. Surround yourself with people that support you and encourage your growth and evolution. ❤️

2. Avoiding environmental man made chemicals and toxins. (Eat mostly organic, and do a personal inventory of all your personal care products, cleaners and household products, avoid plastics and non stick pans).

3. Exercise: movement is medicine and enhances mood and immune function.

4. Getting enough sunlight: vitamin D is an essential hormone required in sufficient amounts for optimal health.

5. Getting adequate Sleep: Important for the brain as it detoxifies while you are sleeping. This is called glymphatic clearance. The majority of this clearance of metabolic waste happens during sleep.

6. Daily Detoxification: toxins need to leave the body. Make sure you are eliminating daily through the bowels, sweating daily, peeing, (staying hydrated with clean filtered water).

Did your know that KIWI fruits contain more vitamin C than oranges?

KIWI fruits also contain a compound called FISETIN which has long been studied by longevity experts because it can actively target senescent or deteriorating, aging cells.
It protects the cells from damage and by neutralizing free radicals by increasing powerful antioxidants (such as glutathione and superoxide dismutase).

The FISETIN compound also has antioxidant properties, which help support healthy brain function by inhibiting inflammatory factors and protecting delicate brain cells from oxidative stress.
