🚫 I Banned Four Words From My House.

Not because they were rude. Because they were a lie.
Those words: "I can't do it" and "You can't do it."

😥Growing up, I heard these words constantly. They were part of the background noise whenever certain topics came up—whether it was about finances, education, or even trying a new way of living.

😥Every single time an opportunity showed up at our doorstep, that phrase was right there to meet it.

❗Here is the truth about what happens the exact moment those words leave your mouth: Your brain quits. It completely shuts down. No creative solutions. No fighting spirit. Just silence.

🧠 The Neuroscience of a Question

❗The shift doesn't require a massive leap of faith. It just requires changing a statement into an exploration.

❓What happens when we replace those four words with a question?
"How can I do it?" (5 words)
"What if I could do it?" (6 words)

😊Suddenly, the brain wakes up. It begins scanning the environment, searching for answers, and building new neural pathways. That is basic neuroscience.

😥Back when I was a child, upbringing often trained us to operate from a place of "I can't."
It taught us to sit quietly, and wait for permission to speak or move.

❗Saying "I can't do it" as an adult is often just the lingering habit of that exact same compliance.
❗It’s an installed script, and it was put there without your permission.

🙏If you are present and aware of the wonders of life, you quickly realize that the ones we loved and lost are still always around us.

🙏We just have to know how to listen.

🦋A few years ago, I was utterly devastated by the death of my tomcat. After coming home from the vet, a white butterfly fluttered into my living room through the smallest, tiniest gap in my balcony door.
🦋It sat quietly on one of my plants for what felt like an eternity, before fluttering straight back out through that exact same gap.
🦋Later, I learned that in Japan, a white butterfly represents the soul of a loved one.

❤️When my cat Lilly passed—who used to love laying across my shoulders—we went to an animal shelter looking for a female cat. Instead, a little tomcat kitten jumped straight onto my shoulders. We adopted him on the spot.

❤️Even with the people who shaped my life: whenever I hear the song “Killing Me Softly,” I am instantly back in the arms of my dad for our last dance.

❤️Whenever I see tribal jewelry, my mother is right there with me.

❤️For many people, these moments might not mean much. But to me, they felt like those rare instances when the world gets quiet for a second and something deep inside me whispers, “Drop into your heart.”

🌿The Logical Mind vs. The Grieving Heart🌿

🌞I know some people will read this and say, “Come on, that’s just a coincidence.”
And maybe it was.
Maybe the butterfly was just a butterfly.

❤️But I also know that when you are grieving, you don’t always need a massive, earth-shattering miracle. ❤️Sometimes you just need a gentle reminder that love doesn’t disappear just because someone is no longer sitting across from you.

❣️I believe, not every meaningful thing in life has to be proven to matter.
❗If a sign from someone you love brings you comfort, helps you feel connected, or reminds you that you’re not alone in this big world, then it has done its job.❗

🙏That is a beautiful thing.

🌿Staying Open to the Whispers🌿

❣️Honestly, I think the best signs don't make us dwell on the past—they help us live more fully in the present.
❤️They remind us to appreciate life, stay connected to the people still here, and pay attention to the small moments we might otherwise miss.

🙏So, I encourage you to stay open:

▪️Listen: Maybe a specific song comes on at the exact moment you need it.
▪️Watch: Maybe you notice a bird, a butterfly, a repeating number, or a vivid dream.
▪️Notice: Maybe a stranger uses a phrase that sounds exactly like something your loved one used to say.

❣️You don’t have to convince anyone else. You don't need to debate the science of it. Just notice it. Smile. Say thank you. Let it bring you the peace it came to bring.

👉We think we are hitting the limits of our potential, but what we’re actually hitting is an Upper Limit: a quiet, invisible ceiling installed by upbringing, culture, and even our ancestors.
❗It dictates exactly how much we are allowed to receive.
▪️How much love?
▪️How much money?
▪️How much success?

❗When you bump into that invisible wall, it’s easy to assume it’s "just the way the world is." But more often, it’s a nervous system response—an outdated identity quietly running the show.
