Oooh something fun is coming up[sidedown] in April! Join for an afternoon of exploring inversions, here @ Yoga Grace! 🤸🏽

Do you ever feel a little nervous when a teacher calls out “Shoulder Stand” or “Headstand” in class? You aren’t alone! While these poses are staples of our Yoga Asana practice, they require a mix of technique, steadiness and confidence.

Join us at Yoga Grace for an afternoon dedicated to de-mystifying the world of being upside down. This workshop is designed to take the intimidation factor away and replace it with curiosity and play. We’ll be breaking down the two most common inversions you’ll see in our weekly classes:

👌🏽Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand): Often called the “Mother of all Poses,” we’ll explore how to arrive into and stay in this posture with ease.

👌🏼Sirsasana (Headstand): Learn the foundational architecture of a solid headstand to unlock the powerful therapeutic benefits of this posture.

Why go upside down? 👀

Inversions are incredible postures for the body and mind. By shifting our relationship with gravity, we unlock incredible therapeutic benefits:

🍉Vibrancy: Boosts circulation and refreshes the nervous system.

☀️Confidence: Overcoming the fear of being upside down builds resilience on and off the mat.

💧Clarity: Quiets the chatter of the mind, leaving you feeling grounded and focused.

What to expect:

This is a judgment-free learning opportunity. We’ll move through foundational alignment tips, explore the why behind the postures, and use props and walls to ensure everyone feels safe and supported. Whether you’re working on preparing your body to go upside down, or are ready to find your balance in the centre of the room, there is a place for you here.

Come play, learn, and leave feeling a little lighter!

If you haven’t met yet, we highly recommend checking out a class with her! She’s popping up all over the YG schedule this month while & are away. We asked Darci a few questions to help you lovely people get to know her a little better. Check out her responses below! 👇🏼

1. “If your Yoga practice today had a theme song and a signature scent, what would they be?”

The first mala beads I ever wore were made of sandalwood, so definitely that scent. As for a theme song, it would be silence. I know… a little cheesy. But for many years I filled every waking moment with noise, and over time I’ve fallen in love with how expansive silence can be. 📿

2. “What’s one ‘non-spiritual’ thing that feels like a spiritual experience to you?”

These days the spiritual moments feel very ordinary. Talking with my family, walking outside, cooking a meal, breathing. The practice is remembering that these small moments matter.

3. “If you could grab tea with any ancient Yogi or Diety, who would it be and what would you ask them?”

If I could have tea with anyone, it would be Miaozong, a Zen teacher from the 12th century. At a time when very few women were recognized as teachers, she held a seat of authority and taught with great clarity. I would love to ask her how she stayed rooted in practice while also holding her own voice.

4. “Which posture was your ‘nemesis’—and what did it finally teach you?”

As for postures, I don’t really think of any as nemeses. I tend to approach asana more as biomechanics. Some shapes support my body and practice, and others simply aren’t necessary.

Spring is a season of transformation—a time when the earth renews itself and life begins to bloom. This is your moment to do the same. Whether you want to deepen your practice or simply commit to a healthier path, this challenge is designed to help you strengthen your body, still your mind, and launch into a more vibrant way of being.

Our Yoga Challenge Pass is $149 and includes unlimited Yoga classes for 30 days! Hey Friends! 👋🏼

We asked our dear Lisa a few fun questions to help you get to know her a little better! 👇🏼

1. If your current Yoga practice had a soundtrack and a signature scent, what would they be?

My theme song would be Cycles by Svaneborg Kardy. It’s soft, but also upbeat in a gentle fashion. It speaks to my heart, fills it and makes me want to move in that same way connecting to my heart, breath and movement as it cycles on.

My scent would be an essential oil representing the forest. This scent of the abundance of the cleansed, recycled air and the Earth further takes me into my grounding while at the same time, reached up to the ether.

2. What’s one ‘ordinary’ thing that feels like a spiritual experience to you?

As I have moved along my path, I have found spiritual reality in all things even the mundane such as washing dishes and folding laundry they are all opportunities to find presences and in that space of presence is the opportunity to connect to the quietness where spirt resides.

3. If you could grab tea with any ancient Yogi or Diety, who would it be and what would you ask them?

I would want to share a tea with Shiva considering Shiva was the Aadi Yogi. I’d ask, “How did you come up with it all, and did you think it would help humans? And did you ever think it would spread so far over the world for so many centuries?”

4. Which posture was your ‘nemesis’—and what did it finally teach you?”

My@nemesis Asana would be downward facing Dog, Adho Mukha Svanasansa. Probably because in my other job (stylist .qb) I’m standing all day and using my arms, so I found it hard on my shoulders. With steadiness and consistency though, I don’t mind it at all anymore! I probably can’t go as far to say that I love it yet, but I’ve come a long way. It’s still may not be a perfect shape, but I have found that that it doesn’t feel the same in my body. It actually feels good now. It’s taught me patience, steadiness, and consistency. Anything is possible.
