Purple Essentials has been so much more than just a business...to me, to Graham and to many others. It has been a true labour of love for over 13 +years. (seven+ years in Kingston and six+ here in Qualicum Beach).
Purple Essentials started out as my passion and quickly became our shared dream/mission when Graham decided to dedicate himself to it – we were a team in every way. I am deeply thankful for all the years we worked at it, together, along with all our friends and family who helped us through our hectic Holiday Shopping Events and Trade Shows. Between Kingston and Qualicum Beach, we managed to connect with so many wonderful people… all of you!
Looking back, Graham certainly made Purple Essentials into a legitimate business. He was the one who crossed T’s and dotted I’s, and welcomed our customers, wholeheartedly. While I got to explore the creative side and my passion for natural skincare.
The year following his death was a year of pure survival. Special gratitude goes to all the amazing Purple Angels and generous people who showed up in so many ways – they saved Purple Essentials, so that I could continue with it all. For that I am eternally grateful! The second year without Graham was a year of pushing forward and learning new roles. The third year and a half has been a time of new beginnings (returning to my education), while juggling Purple Essentials and a new job with Oceanside Hospice Society.
Over the last couple of years, the business portion has become increasingly more challenging. The logistics have become more complicated. While, ingredients, packaging, and shipping have all become more expensive. It has not been the joy it was, without Graham being a part of it all. And in the background my passion for working with people in grief has grown.
All of this to say, it is time to warp-up Purple Essentials. This decision has not been easy, and it can trigger sad feelings of loss and change – it is also an exciting opportunity, to move forward and continue to explore and grow.
April 30th 2023 will be the final day for orders and Purple Essentials will be closing up shop. With limited supplies available – there will be limited number of batches and products. If there is something you are wanting and it shows as sold-out, please email me at info@purple-essentials.com. I can let you know if it will be available. *No orders will be received after April 30th.
You have helped keep Purple going through the years and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! It’s one thing to have a small business – it’s another to have a business that you love and customers who you adore! Thank you for being an integral part of a very special chapter in Graham’s and my lives.
