Have you heard of Come to the Table yet? Two local Quesnel women started a monthly event nearly two years ago, where local ladies can come together and support each other. Every month, a woman in business from Quesnel is a guest speaker, and these events are a great chance to meet and network with women in town. This month’s speaker is Carmen from Cookie Bitz and it’s sure to be a fun and interesting evening! Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going to the Quesnel Women's Resource Centre, and you can RSVP to reserve your seat on their Come to the Table page. These events often sell out so don’t miss out! Check them out today and come join on Monday March 30th.

Carrier Sekani Family Services and the Highway of Tears Symposium Planning Committee invite you to the Highway of Tears 20th Anniversary Symposium.

This event marks 20 years since the 2006 Highway of Tears Symposium, when families, community leaders, and advocates came together to raise national awareness and call for action in response to the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit peoples (MMIWG2S+) along Highway 16.

Join us in Prince George on April 7-10, 2026, for presentations, panel discussions, and progress reports centered on where we were, where we are and where we are going. This is a significant time to remember loved ones, reflect on what has changed, and renew commitments to community safety along Highway 16.

In the early 1960s, a new drug promised to ease morning sickness.

Companies pushed hard for approval.

But FDA physician Frances Kelsey wasn’t convinced.

She demanded more safety data.

While other countries approved the drug, the U.S. waited.

The medication—thalidomide—later caused thousands of severe birth defects worldwide.

Her refusal prevented the disaster in America.

On , we're reaffirming that women's history is not a footnote. It's foundational.

At the National Women's History Museum, we believe that a more complete understanding of the past can inform a more just and equitable future.

History shapes how we understand our present. And it shapes who sees themselves in the future.

When women’s history is visible, women and girls recognize possibility. When it's taught fully, confidence grows. And when confidence grows, more women stay in the game, and representation increases.

Whether you're learning on your own, teaching others, sharing resources, or participating in programs, today (and in general) is an opportunity to deepen understanding and broaden perspective.

From our booking our Women's History 101 virtual talks for your workplace, to utilizing our library of 300+ biographies, to attending our virtual workshops to help educators incorporate more women into their lessons, there are plenty of ways to engage with women's history while making a lasting impact.
