Babywearing Part 2

✨ Did you know that babywearing can also benefit parents?

~ Babywearing is used for transportation and convenience, but also as a parenting tool.

~ It helps with bonding, regulation of baby’s nervous system, and improves feeding outcomes.

~ The breastfeeding parent may feel overstimulated after a feed. Babywearing allows the non-breastfeeding parent to bond with baby.

~ Especially with skin to skin contact, babywearing can help with postpartum anxiety and depression in low risk birthing parents.

Babywearing Part 1

✨ Did you know that babywearing can be beneficial for baby’s hips?

~ Babywearing can improve outcomes for hip development, and for babies being treated for hip dysplasia

~ Babies 0-2 months should have hips and knees fully flexed up towards the chest

~ After 2 months babies begin to gain more extension, and the best hip position for them is an M: really wide at the hips, with knees bend slightly higher than the hips

~ It is recommended that babies stay facing the wearer until at least 6 months because it’s much harder to maintain the M hip position when forward facing
