Puppy TV- The puppies are now four weeks old! This episode is a series of clips from their afternoon play time today (~12 minutes).
They enjoy spending some time outside each day and we've got a large open-air pen set up where we hang out for a few hours at a time. Momma Venom can come and go as she likes; occasionally uncle Ralphie gets to come in and play with the puppies and the other dogs (and our cat) take turns hanging around the outside of the pen to visit.
Caviar currently weighs 6 pounds and Velveeta is just a smidge over 5 pounds. That's a bit big for their age, but not astoundingly so. They are pretty active and that helps keep them from growing too fat.
Today was their first day with the jungle gym and cato boards outside, and they met the tunnel for the first time yesterday! They are curious about all of these things. What really impresses me with these puppies though, is how good their vision is for this age. They can watch and track movement of the other dogs all across the yard. They are also super good at following humans already. In the video, you'll see they are responding to recall 'pup pup' calls already (although it's not always an accurate response- sometimes they run to the nearest dog, lol!)
Tomorrow will be a big day for our Fun and Fancy pair, since it will be their first introduction to solid food (meat mush!) Since they've got little teeth emerging, momma V will be happy to see this milestone!!
