Now that summer is peaking around the corner it's time for this reminder.
Yes, we need to be careful with protecting our skin from burn. However, if you always wear sunscreen, makeup with SPF, or lip balm with SPF you are not getting the rays that your body turns into vitamin D.
Even zinc oxide and other natural sunscreens block these rays.
So give yourself 10-20 minutes every day outside without wearing any SPF. Build up to this time if you are particularly sensitive and do this in the earlier or later part of the day when the sun isn't as intense.
Getting unblocked sun on every part of your body is important for vitamin D production and overall health. Try to expose as much skin as decently possible during those 10-20 minutes!
