Therapy That Fits Your Budget!

Finding affordable mental health support can be tough. At Social Shift Therapy & Wellness, we believe cost shouldn’t be a barrier to healing and we actively offer ways to make therapy more accessible:
* We have Practicum / Intern Therapists who provide therapy at lower rates, supervised by registered therapists.
* Chat with our therapist if the fee is still a barrier
* For folks in the service/hospitality industry, there’s no‑cost counselling support through our intern program.
If you’re curious, you can reach out through our inquiry form, and we’ll help match you with a therapist that fits both your needs and your budget.

You deserve care that’s affordable and compassionate.

Teachers, we are back with good conversation and connection!

This Friday, we’re teaming up with Red Hart Brewing and our good friends Alexis and Nick Glackin to not only buy 30 teachers their first round but now 80 because you deserve to connect and feel supported by your community.

Come as you are. No pressure, no agenda, just space to hang out and be reminded you’re not alone in this.

✨ Mental health isn’t just a one-day event. ✨

World Mental Health Day may have been yesterday, but the truth?
Mental health deserves our attention every single day.

So this post isn’t late, it’s right on time. Okay, this post might be a day late, but we are practicing self-compassion and a positive reframe 🙈 💛

Let’s keep checking in with ourselves and each other. Let’s normalize the messy parts, the little wins, the “I booked the appointment” and the “I finally put the laundry away” moments. It all counts.

Swipe through for a few small but meaningful ways to show up for your mental health today (and tomorrow… and next week).

You’re not alone. We’re in this with you. Even if we missed the actual calendar day 🌎

Some of our collective served coffee and treats today at the Wellness Walk for the ATA Local 80 & 60. It’s important for us to provide support to our valued teachers at this time. Join us at our next teacher support event at Red Hart on October 10th from 2-6pm.

🍻 Teachers, we see you.

We know this season has been a lot. Stressful days, hard conversations, and uncertainty that weighs heavy. While a beer can’t fix the bigger picture, it can bring people together.

This Friday, we’re teaming up with Red Hart Brewing to buy 30 teachers their first round because you deserve to connect and feel supported by your community. 🍻

Come as you are. No pressure, no agenda, just space to hang out and be reminded you’re not alone in this.

Since Life of a Showgirl launches today which was inspired by Taylor’s European leg of her last tour. And since our very own Brittany is currently in Europe, we can’t help but embrace a little Taylor Swift in the office today.

What’s your go to Taylor song to boost, reset or embrace your mood?

We’re so excited to officially welcome Madelaine Gomes (She/Her) to the Social Shift Collective!

Madelaine is a Provisional Registered Psychologist who works with teens, adults, and couples and she brings a deeply compassionate, grounded presence to her sessions.

She integrates approaches like EMDR, ACT, CBT, and EFT to support clients navigating anxiety, trauma, identity, stress and relationships. Madelaine meets you where you’re at with no pressure to rush, and every encouragement to go at your own pace.
Outside the therapy room, you’ll find her reading, traveling, tending her garden, and hanging out with her partner and their three cats; one is a polydactyl (extra-toed) and one has only three legs (a tripawd)

We’re so lucky to have her here 💛

Self-care isn’t always a face mask or bubble bath. Sometimes, it’s choosing one small thing that helps you feel more cared for.

Here are a few ways to care for yourself today; pick what feels good; leave the rest:

- Drink water before your coffee
- Change your sheets, even if nothing else gets done
- Write out a manageable to do list for the week.
- Give yourself a few minutes to consider what intention you want to set for the week.
- Take 20 mins screen-free and just be
