Missing teeth can affect more than just your smile, and it's more common than you think. Dental bridges are designed to "bridge" the gap left by teeth lost to trauma or decay, restoring both function and appearance. By replacing missing natural teeth with durable artificial teeth, bridges help improve chewing, speaking, and overall oral health. Custom-made and securely placed by your dentist, bridges are a comfortable, semi-permanent solution that blend seamlessly with your natural smile.

If gaps are making you feel self-conscious or affecting your daily routine, let's discuss if a dental bridge is right for you.

National Nutrition Month is a great time to talk about little smiles and big habits. 🍎🦷

When it comes to kids’ teeth, sugar sneaks in more often than we think — from juice boxes and flavoured yogurts to granola bars and sticky snacks. Frequent exposure to sugar feeds the bacteria that cause cavities, especially when teeth are still developing.

Simple lunchbox swaps can make a big difference. Try water instead of juice, cheese or yogurt instead of gummy snacks, and crunchy fruits and veggies like apples, carrots and cucumbers that help stimulate saliva and naturally clean teeth.

Healthy choices at meal times support healthy smiles at checkup time. Small changes today help set kids up for strong, confident smiles tomorrow.

Tooth Tip Tuesday 🦷

Getting over a cold or flu? It might be time to swap out your toothbrush.

When you’re sick, bacteria and viruses can linger on your toothbrush bristles. While your immune system does the heavy lifting, replacing your toothbrush once you’re feeling better helps reduce the chance of reintroducing germs and keeps your oral hygiene routine on track.

It’s also a good idea to store your toothbrush upright, let it air dry and avoid letting bristles touch other brushes. Small habits like these help keep bacteria under control and support a healthy smile all year long.

Happy International Women’s Day! We’re proud to celebrate the incredible women who help our patients feel confident in their smiles and who continue to shape the future of dentistry.

Today, women make up over 50% of dental school graduates in Canada, and in many programs, female enrolment has exceeded male enrolment for more than a decade. Dentistry has seen one of the most notable gender shifts of any healthcare profession over the past 40 years.

Here’s to the leaders, mentors and caregivers in our office, across the country and globally who continue to move oral health forward every single day.

If you’ve been brushing, flossing and doing all the right things but your teeth still aren’t as white as you’d like, you’re not alone.

Tooth colour can be affected by more than just surface stains. Diet, aging, medications, enamel thickness and even genetics all play a role in how bright your smile appears. That’s why whitening doesn’t look the same for everyone — and why it’s important to understand what’s actually causing the discolouration.

March is National Nutrition Month in Canada, and it’s a great excuse to show your smile a little extra love and remind our patients that oral health = overall health.

What you eat and drink has a direct impact on your teeth and gums. Sugar fuels the bacteria that cause cavities, and acidic drinks like pop, sports drinks and even some flavoured waters can wear down enamel over time. The good news is that small, consistent choices make a difference. Choosing tooth-friendly snacks, drinking more water and being mindful of how often you sip sugary or acidic beverages all help protect and support long-term oral health.

March is a great reminder that a healthy mouth supports your whole body. From digestion to immune function to confidence. 😁

When it comes to kids’ oral health, consistency matters more than perfection. Brushing twice a day, most days, beats the “perfect” routine that only happens once in a while, and the same goes for flossing. Missed a night? It happens. What counts is getting back to the routine and keeping healthy habits going over time. And yes, adults, this one applies to you, too!

Tooth Tip Tuesday 🦷

Brushing should start as soon as the first tooth appears, usually around six months, with a tiny smear of fluoride toothpaste about the size of a grain of rice. Kids still need help brushing until about age seven or eight, when their hands are steady enough to do it properly.

Flossing should begin as soon as two teeth touch, which often happens around age two or three. Starting early builds great habits and helps keep little smiles healthy as they grow.

Dental care shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all, especially as kids grow. We support smiles from toddlers to teens, adjusting care as needs change along the way. We love building long-term relationships with families and watching little patients grow into confident, healthy-smiling adults. Same friendly faces, same trusted care, just a few more teeth over the years. 😉

Tooth sensitivity can be normal at times, especially after whitening, a dental cleaning or when eating something very hot or cold. But if sensitivity is lingering, getting worse, or paired with pain and swelling, it’s a good idea to book an appointment. Those can be signs of an underlying issue that needs attention. When in doubt, checking in with your dentist early can help prevent small concerns from becoming bigger problems.
