A few members of my child care facility team and I attended the Saskatchewan Early Childhood Association's (SECA) Spring Conference, we were so inspired all weekend! Today we heard Richard Cohen (Instagram )! What an inspiring talk from an amazing speaker; he had us reflecting on our childhood heroes, the importance of the role we have in the lives of families, the gratitude we feel for our team of child care providers. I loved how interactive he designed his talk to be, a real Hive-Mind was brought up! Thankfully my mother captured a moment where I was provided an opportunity to share a notion I had been meditating on for a while: Early Childhood Educators could be called Early Childhood Developmentalists instead. We do so much more for children than only educate them, we also care for their holistic wellbeing; the whole child. Social/Emotional development, Physical (gross and fine motor) development, Cognitive development, Spiritual development, Nutrition, their exposure to creative opportunities. Early Childhood Professionals are amazing for all they do, and I am proud to be one! 💞💫
