PLUS 26 degrees today! Gorgeous day with 3 youth. Golfing, bike riding, adventures and hotdogs! We are at the Campground for the Summer!

Well, this snow was unexpected! The Youth had been enjoying the nice weather. We’ve gone for bike rides, hikes, golf cart rides, wiener roasts, bird watching. Sledding and building snowmen are the plans!
Activity is such an important part of the day.

We are open 24 hours. With COVID-19 restrictions we are not doing as many activities. We go for walks, fly kites, etc. Activity is so important for youth. Helps to regulate them, they sleep better and interact more.
A RESPITE Service (overnight care in my home for youth.) My fees are affordable. I am approved through SS and also take private clients.
First Aid, CPR and Police Checks are done.
Whether it’s once, weekly or monthly, please message me for more info.
I have worked with high needs Autistic Youth for the last 9 years.
I have extensive training and practical experience as a Youth Respite Worker. Caring and compassion are my strengths. I feel confident in my abilities to effectively meet the needs of clients as well as maintain accurate confidential records and charts. Some of the skills and experience that I have include:
A) Over 30 years of Youth Care work.
😎 Experience and training in administering medications, including insulin.
C) Therapeutic Intervention Training.
D) FASD Training
E) Hundreds of hours of training and practicum work with Youth.
F) PRIDE Training through SS.
G) CARE training.
H) Mental Health First Aide
I) Trained in Diabetic Care for Type 1 diabetes.

Busy week! C last night. 2 special guests the next 3 days and 1 youth Saturday, Sunday. C again Sunday night.
We transport to and from school if needed.
We’re looking forward to kite flying and some parks! These guys are excited about playing with Legos and spending a bit of time playing Mine craft on the iPad. Movie nights are my fave.

We had a great weekend! Loving the beautiful weather! Tried to fly kites but the wind didn’t cooperate. We baked delicious chocolate chip cookies and a loaf of bread! C has developed an interest in plants. We watered and fertilized.
Today I met a new youth and his foster Mom. They stopped by for a brief Meet and Greet. He is high needs and diabetic. I’m taking classes and have learnt to take his blood and give insulin.
Looking forward to having him stay with us.
We are very easy going and good at our jobs. We don’t put pressure on the youth. It’s like visiting Grandma and Grandpa. We are flexible with dates and times.

We treat all youth with respect. They are welcomed into our home and become part of our family during the time they are here. Our days are lightly structured. We strive to give the youth a fun weekend. Outings, crafts, movies. It’s a little harder now with Covid restrictions but there’s still lots to do.

We sanitize ongoing throughout the day. We change bedding and sanitize bedrooms each time a youth leaves. We do not go out to stores or crowded events. We only take one family at a time.
