We’re excited to announce a new addition to our schedule! Starting Sunday, February 2nd, at 5:00 PM, join us for Foundations & Flow with Melissa, a 75-minute all-levels class that will leave you feeling grounded and energized. Here’s what to expect:

Foundations & Flow

This class emphasizes the fundamentals of yoga, offering a balanced blend of theory, mindful movement, and breathwork. Each session begins with a 5-10 minute exploration of a theme that threads through the physical practice. Expect a feel-good flow accompanied by music, designed to be gentle to moderate in intensity—bridging the gap between Flow & Restore and Hatha styles.

We’ll break down postures into their essential components, moving mindfully through familiar poses and discovering new ways to explore them. Modifications and detailed instructions will be provided throughout, making this class accessible and enriching for practitioners of all levels.

As we approach the end of the year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support and dedication throughout 2024. It’s been a joy to share this practice with each of you, and we are so thankful for the positive energy you’ve brought to our studio. This time of year offers a chance to pause, reflect, and appreciate all that we’ve experienced together. From our daily practices to the special moments shared in class, we are truly grateful for this wonderful community. We also look forward to the exciting new year ahead, full of growth, peace, and connection.

GENTLA HATHA 4pm Sundays!!

This class is especially intended for students who are just beginning their yoga journey and/or those looking for a slower, relaxed, back-to-basics practice. We will explore core themes like proper breath, movement with breath, common movement patterns and transitions, postures, usage of props and proper alignment.

You can expect a slow and gentle pace with plenty of detailed guidance, wherein you will also become familiar with common verbal cues given in yoga as well as the different names of postures. The class is broken down and simplified so that students establish a solid foundation and the confidence to support them moving forward in their practice.

All levels welcome

Discipline is one of the most important aspects of our physical practice. You have to show up and be present with whatever arises during practice. Our body is our vessel that takes us through life and all the challenges that come. The yoga practice teaches us to move through discomfort, to be less reactive to uncomfortable physical and emotional sensations. It also makes us more resilient and less judgemental of the less desirable feelings that occur day to day.

You cannot know comfort without also knowing discomfort and the waves of discomfort offer a rich environment for growth and learning.

Yoga shows promise for relieving certain kinds of chronic and acute pain in the physical and mental realms. The practice of holding postures, breathing intentionally, and meditating all train you to fine-tune your attention.

By focusing on the subtleties of your inhalations and exhalations you are better able to release the tension built up in the tissues of the body, relieving pain. The mind also begins to settle, gaining a greater tolerance to stress, discomfort and triggering thoughts and sensations.

When you begin to practice yoga more regularly, you’ll unlock a host of health benefits. Yoga engages the mind, body, and breath, so the benefits span the physical, mental, and emotional realms.

Flexibility and strength are just a couple direct results of a regular practice. The movements and deep breathing during a yoga practice improves blood flow, stretches and strengthens our muscles and tunes us into a deep state of focus that allows the mind a break from incoming thoughts and distractions.
