April is Autism Awareness Month 🌟

Autism acceptance is about recognizing and respecting that every person experiences the world in their own unique way. It means moving beyond awareness and truly embracing differences—understanding that individuals on the autism spectrum have their own strengths, challenges, and incredible perspectives to offer. Acceptance creates spaces where people feel safe to be themselves, without judgment or pressure to fit a mold. When we choose patience, kindness, and inclusion, we help build a community where everyone is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive just as they are. 💙

Stimming—short for self-stimulatory behavior—is a natural and important part of life for many individuals on the autism spectrum. Vocal stims might include humming, repeating words or phrases, or making sounds, while physical stims can look like hand-flapping, rocking, tapping, or other repetitive movements. These actions aren’t something to “fix”—they are ways people regulate their emotions, process sensory input, express excitement, or cope with stress.
