During a medication review, a patient mentioned she was planning to visit her young grandchildren. The pharmacist took the opportunity to discuss RSV, reviewed eligibility, answered questions, helped obtain a prescription and administered the vaccine- all in the same visit! The patient left feeling informed, protected, and confident about spending time with her family.
Later, she noted that many of her friends were also planning to visit family during the holidays and were not aware the vaccine could be assessed and given at the pharmacy.
