Play is essential for children’s mental health. It helps them process emotions and develop social skills. Make time for fun! ☀️

We loved seeing the connection and calm created during a recent Animal-Assisted Play Therapy session led by Danielle Home, a practicum student from the University of Regina, currently completing her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology.
Danielle is offering two unique therapeutic approaches at Beaver Creek Ranch:
• Eagala Equine-Assisted Therapy 🐴
• Animal-Assisted Play Therapy 🐾
These sessions provide a nurturing, nature-based environment where connection, growth, and healing can flourish—available at a reduced rate during her practicum.
This is a wonderful opportunity for children, teens, or adults interested in exploring the powerful role animals can play in therapy through Joshua Tree Learning Centre.
Yesterday, we paused to honour the life and legacy of Jordan River Anderson, a young boy from Norway House Cree Nation whose story continues to shape how we advocate for children and families across Canada.
Jordan spent his entire life in hospital—not because he needed to, but because jurisdictional disputes over funding prevented him from returning home to his family. He passed away on February 2, 2005, never having the opportunity to live in a family home.
From Jordan’s story came Jordan’s Principle—a commitment to ensure First Nations children receive the services and supports they need, when they need them, without delay or denial.
Why this matters—every day:
Honouring Jordan’s legacy means continuing the work beyond a single day. At Joshua Tree Learning Centre, we are committed to supporting families, advocating for equitable access to care, and helping navigate systems so children can receive timely, compassionate support.
We hold Jordan, his family, and all families affected by systemic barriers in our thoughts.
Together, we continue to work toward systems rooted in care, dignity, and compassion—for every child.
If your family has questions about accessing supports or navigating services, our team is here to help. 💛
Jordan's Principle History: Today, we remember Jordan River Anderson, who passed away on February 2, 2005.
Jordan was a young boy from Norway House Cree Nation who spent his entire life in hospital. Despite being medically cleared to live in a family home, jurisdictional disputes between the federal and provincial governments over funding for his care prevented that from happening. As a result, Jordan never had the opportunity to return home and live with his family.
Jordan’s story resonated across the country and led to the establishment of Jordan’s Principle—a commitment to ensure that First Nations children receive the services and supports they need, when they need them, without delay or denial due to jurisdictional or funding disputes.
On this day of remembrance, we hold Jordan in our thoughts and extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Honouring Jordan’s legacy means continuing to advocate for children and families and working toward systems rooted in care, dignity, and compassion.

Joshua Tree Learning Centre is honoured to support Globe Theatre during its production of Disney’s Frozen – The Broadway Musical by helping make the theatre experience more accessible for all families from January 28 – March 8, 2026.
💛 What families can expect:
To support a more inclusive theatre experience, a Quiet Zone will be available during matinee performances, thoughtfully staffed by Joshua Tree Learning Centre. This calm, low-stimulus space is designed for individuals and families who may need a sensory break—allowing guests to step away, regulate, and return to the performance when they’re ready.
💙 A first for the Globe Theatre
For the first time, the Globe Theatre will also be offering Sensory Bags, available for all performances. These bags are designed to support neurodivergent individuals and include:
• Noise-reducing headphones
• Fidgets and sensory tools
• Support for taking breaks and decompressing during the show
This first-of-its-kind initiative is a meaningful step toward welcoming neurodivergent individuals and families into the magic of live theatre—comfortably, confidently, and without judgment.
At Joshua Tree Learning Centre, inclusion isn’t a buzzword—it’s a commitment. We are proud to partner with the Globe Theatre to help create accessible, inclusive entertainment for families across the city of Regina.
Because everyone deserves to experience the magic of theatre. ❄️✨

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual — and it’s okay to ask for support. We work alongside families to help children build emotional skills, resilience, and confidence in a safe, nurturing environment.
Support for your child is support for your whole family. ❤️

Pause for a moment and ask yourself: How am I really doing today? Checking in with yourself is a powerful act of self-care. If you need extra support, our team is here to help.
Inclusion Saskatchewan recently shone a light on a reality many families already know too well: children with disabilities and special needs are still being excluded from classrooms where they belong.
A town hall was held this evening to create space for these voices, stories, and concerns. And while the event may be over, the conversation cannot be.
At Joshua Tree Learning Centre, we see the impact of exclusion every day—on children, on families, and on educators who want to do better but need support, resources, and systemic change. Inclusion is not a “nice to have.” It is a right.
If you missed the town hall, we encourage you to seek out the discussion, listen to lived experiences, and stay engaged. Real change happens when conversations continue beyond a single evening.
Our commitment remains the same: to advocate, to support, and to stand alongside children and families until every child is seen, valued, and included—where they learn, grow, and belong. 🌱
Joshua Tree Learning Centre is a place for connection, care, and growth.
We support children, youth, adults, and families through counselling, assessment, and therapeutic services — always with compassion and understanding at the core.
You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. ❤️
