Core work in action 💪🧠

Here, Chris is practicing long sitting on a BOSU ball! This adds an extra layer of challenge by creating an unstable surface — meaning the body has to constantly adjust to stay upright.

In this setup:

⚖️ The BOSU challenges balance and postural control
🧱 The box and weight provide grounding and feedback
💪 Builds core strength and endurance
🧠 Encourages body awareness and control in a seated position

All of this supports better stability for everyday tasks — both in and out of the chair.

Big milestone unlocked 👏🧠

Learning how to move from a bear stand into standing independently is a huge step — and he did it on his own!

This movement builds:

💪 Full-body strength — arms, legs, and core all working together
⚖️ Balance and stability during a tricky transition
🧠 Motor planning & coordination — figuring out how to get from point A to B
🔄 Confidence in movement — trusting his body to do something new
🏠 Real-life independence — getting up from the floor, playing, and moving through daily activities more easily

Moments like this might look small, but they carry over into everyday life in a big way.

A fun day in the gym this week! 🚶‍♂️✨

The team from Trexo Robotics stopped by on Monday and brought their Trexo XL for some demos with our clients. It was great to see people get the chance to try the technology and experience assisted stepping in a new way.

Lots of smiles, lots of steps, and a really cool look at what’s out there in the world of adaptive mobility!

Holding a plank while moving cones side to side adds multiple layers of challenge:

🧱 Core stability – maintaining a strong, neutral trunk while one arm moves
🖐️ Single-arm weight bearing – building shoulder stability and strength
🧠 Motor control & coordination – reaching with precision without collapsing
🔄 Weight shifting – controlled transfers through the upper body
🏋️ Endurance – sustaining quality movement over time

Exercises like this help build the strength, stability, and coordination that carry over into everyday movement — all while keeping things fun and engaging.
