Here are some more great thoughts from Sean to help us wrap up the week.

“I feel most connected when I can bond with someone over a shared interest, a book, tv show, or video game. Having that shared interest makes starting and maintaining a connection feel easier. Having them ask why I enjoy something makes me feel like they want to understand me better.”

Thank you for joining us as we've explored the theme of Mental Health Week! Let's keep the conversation going all year long! 😍

Here are some additional insights from Heidi.

“Connection is who notices when you don’t show up, people who think of you, trust you, and who accept you and your quirks. It can be a friend, a neighbour, a grocery clerk, someone from a program, or even a familiar face you only see now and then. Each connection adds up and helps you to feel whole.

Personally, I’ve found connection in many interesting ways and a huge one has been through volunteering. These opportunities have lead me to new friendships, aquaintances, unique experiences, and even jobs. If making more connections is a goal for anyone, I’d suggest they start there!”

Here are some additional comments from Hephzibah!

“Engaging in community initiatives, collaborating with non-profit organizations, and offering support where it is most needed allows me to experience a genuine sense of belonging. These moments of service remind me that connection is rooted not only in shared spaces, but in shared purpose such as showing up with intention, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Through these experiences, I build relationships, broaden my understanding of others, and feel deeply integrated into the community in a way that is both fulfilling and motivating.”

Here are some additional thoughts from Beauty.

“By engaging with supportive people, I feel like I’m not alone. I like knowing that we can be facing similar things and this helps me to feel normal. Also, sometimes something as simple as a hug can feel very good!”.

Here are some additional insights from Vansh*ta.

“Connection gives me purpose, keeps me grounded, and supports my mental well-being. I find it in everyday moments! Through creativity, meaningful conversations, movement, and simply being present with myself. When I feel connected to myself, others, and the world around me, I feel more balanced, supported, and truly understood.”
