Sober summer, but make it fun. 🍹☀️
Did you know that any alcohol intake above just two servings per week can increase your risk of health concerns like cancer and cardiometabolic disorders?

But that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy refreshing, fun drinks in the sunshine! 🌿💦
This caption comes from Naturopathic Doctor Brittany Wolfe, who loves incorporating these non-alcoholic treats into her summer gatherings. They help her feel energized, included, and like she’s still part of the cheers — just without the health trade-off.

Here are a few of her favorite alcohol-free summer sips:

✨ Salty Mojito
Mix 1 packet of LMNT Citrus Salt with soda water, crushed lime leaves & a splash of fresh lime juice.

✨ Herbal Iced Tea
Try iced lavender tea (or your fave tea), brewed and chilled over ice. So easy, so refreshing!

✨ Kombucha or Water Kefir
Delicious, fizzy, and supportive of your gut microbiome – a triple win.

The endocrine system is a complex and intricate network that helps maintain balance in the body. It regulates everything from growth, metabolism, and reproduction to stress adaptation and aging—all through hormone-producing glands.

💡 Did you know? The word hormone comes from the Greek word “hormao”, meaning “rise to action”—a fitting name since hormones act as chemical messengers, traveling through the bloodstream and impacting every cell in the body.

🔄 Hormonal Balance & Change

• Our hormones bind to receptors on target tissues to regulate essential functions.
• They respond to both internal and external changes, adapting as needed.
• Genetics & environment both influence how well we maintain hormonal balance.

During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal shifts can feel overwhelming, but understanding how the endocrine system works can help us better support our bodies through this transition. Stay tuned as we dive deeper into how to balance hormones naturally and navigate this phase with ease. 🌿✨

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic Medicine is the art and science of diagnosing, treating, and preventing disease using natural therapies with a focus on optimizing health and well-being through individualized patient care and public education. Naturopathic Doctors (ND) operate on a wellness rather than an illness model. Our primary goal is to address the cause of an illness rather than simply treating or suppressing symptoms. While naturopathic medical care helps to alleviate specific symptoms, the focus is more on the “why” of a disease than the “what”. We believe in the healing power of the body and the importance of removing the “obstacles to cure” while supporting the bodies own internal healing mechanisms in order to restore health and wellness. Naturopathic medicine offers a customized approach to health care, where treatment plans are tailored to suit individual patients.

Our philosophy is rooted in 5 key principles:

Identify and treat the cause - In addition to alleviating acute and chronic symptoms of disease, NDs seek to identify and remove the underlying cause(s) of illness. This approach moves your body toward an optimal state of health, something that might not be achieved by simply eliminating or suppressing symptoms. Doctor as teacher - NDs work collaboratively with patients, sharing knowledge and information to ensure a successful treatment plan. You will be encouraged to take responsibility for your own health. Treat the whole person - In addition to addressing specific complaints or symptoms, NDs look at the ‘big picture’. Your physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors are thoroughly considered. Prevention is the best medicine - NDs emphasize prevention of disease by assessing your risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease. Appropriate interventions can then be made in partnership with patients to prevent illness. Support the healing power of the body - We recognize the ordered and intelligent self-healing process that is inherent to everyone. NDs work to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery and facilitate the natural self-healing process.
