Happy Halloween!!
🎃🧡👻🖤✨
There is no light without darkness. Shadow selves and shadows exist whether we ignore them or not also. Halloween 👻 for me is experiencing a child like playful self while embracing both the light and the dark 🖤
Scientifically scary things/shows are proven to shock the system so you can also relieve the experience of anxiety. The day following Halloween for myself is to honour those loved ones that have passed “All Saints day”and then All Souls day. The veil is thin at this time between heaven and earth. Allowing us to feel closer to our loved ones 🙏☪️
-“The paradox of horror is a very old puzzle," says Mark Miller, a research fellow at Monash University in Australia and the University of Toronto. "Even Aristotle spoke about how weird it is that we're set up to evade and to avoid dangerous, disgusting, harmful, horrible things. Yet we feel magnetised to be in spaces where we're in touch with disgusting, horrible, noxious or horrifying things."
While some of us are naturally drawn to scary films, others recoil from them.
Over the past 10 years, psychologists have finally begun to resolve this enigma. Some evidence indicates that horror stories tap into key processes of the brain that help us deal with uncertainty. The latest results suggest these fictional tales of terror may even bring some serious psychological benefits – including reducing the anxiety we feel about events out in the real world. They are a salve for our worries. "They don't necessarily enjoy the feeling of fear, but they do enjoy the feeling of conquering their fear," -article by David Robson
Food for thought. Now i encourage everyone to be safe and enjoy your Halloween experiences no matter how uncertain or frightful they are!
