This past weekend I had the opportunity to complete advanced training in post-surgical massage therapy and scar tissue management in Toronto. I’m excited to begin incorporating these new skills and knowledge into my everyday practice.
Many of you may be living with the effects of recent or past surgeries, including joint replacements or areas of scar tissue that can contribute to increased pain, functional limitations and changes in sensation. With this specialized training, I’m now able to better assess and treat these concerns, while also helping you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms.
In combination with my certification in manual lymphatic drainage, I am able to safely support clients as early as a few weeks post-operation—without disrupting the natural healing process or scar formation. This approach helps promote proper collagen development and can reduce the likelihood of long-term scar-related complications or problematic scaring.
