Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Team Lead to oversee and support the MESA/SUAP team in delivering high-quality services to individuals experiencing substance use disorders and homelessness. The Clinical Team Lead provides both direct client care and clinical leadership, ensuring that services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and responsive to community needs. This role balances hands-on support with clinical supervision, program coordination, and staff development.
The successful candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of addictions, mental health, and homelessness, alongside a commitment to equity, dignity, and recovery-focused care.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and supervision to Case Managers, outreach staff and Peer Support Specialists.
• Support all staff with case reviews, goal planning, and crisis debriefing.
• Model trauma-informed, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented practices.
• Monitor and maintain clinical standards to ensure consistency and quality of care.
• Work closely with the team members and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless program ex*****on and communication.
• Provide administrative support as needed, including managing calendars, preparing materials and supporting all team members.
Program Coordination & Development
• Assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and refine care pathways and protocols to strengthen client engagement and service delivery.
• Ensure alignment of clinical practices with MESA/SUAP objectives, funder expectations, and sector best practices.
• Participate in inter-agency and cross-sector partnerships to build collaborative networks of care.
• Work to identify and resolve inter-agency coordination issues in collaboration with leadership.
Direct Client Care (Complex & High-Risk Cases)
• Provide clinical assessment and case management for complex or high-acuity clients.
• Develop treatment plans, initiate and manage appropriate referrals to meet client needs and goals.
• Lead crisis intervention and stabilization efforts as needed.
• Advocate for systemic improvements and address barriers to client access.
Training & Professional Development
• Identify staff training needs and coordinate learning opportunities.
• Act as an educational resource to team members in terms of care coordination skills and procedures.
• Mentor team members to enhance their clinical knowledge, skills, and confidence.
• Stay current with emerging research, trends, and evidence-based practices in addiction and mental health.
Documentation & Reporting
• Ensure clinical documentation meets professional, legal, and organizational standards.
• Monitor and review case notes, assessments, and care plans to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Prepare program reports and contribute to evaluation, research, and outcome measurement.

Qualifications
• Education:
o Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Nursing, or a related clinical field.
o Registration in good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO, CNO).
• Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in addictions, mental health, or homelessness services.
o At least 2 years in a supervisory, leadership, or clinical oversight role.
o Strong background in outreach and community-based service delivery.
• Skills & Competencies:
o Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
o Strong crisis management and risk assessment skills.
o Advanced knowledge of substance use disorders, concurrent disorders, trauma, and harm reduction.
o Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
o Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities effectively.
• Certifications (Preferred):
o Certified Addiction Counselor (CACCF) or equivalent clinical certification.
o First Aid/CPR certification.

Work Environment
• Location: Office-based work combined with mobile outreach and community engagement.
• Hours: Full-time contract position, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, with some flexibility for client or staff needs.
• Physical Demands: Ability to travel and engage with clients in diverse environments (shelters, homes, outdoor settings).
