We had a wonderful student who finished up her placement with us and treated us to a basket of Australian treats. One such item was Vegemite. So, today was the day that Allison and Liana decided to try it at lunch.
The results:
Liana - Australia, who hurt you
Allison - once you get past the first bite, it really is not that bad.

Tomorrow, March 8 we celebrate International Women's Day. As we move closer to that date we would like to introduce to you just some of the amazing women who work at MacKay Manor, in various programs. I was not able to catch them all as they were out in the community doing what they do best - working with their clients.
We salute you all and celebrate the remarkable women that you are. Thank you

On Friday, February 8th we celebrated our open house for our Women's site in Ottawa, unveiling our enhanced services and personalized support designed to empower women in their recovery and growth.
Our program had shut down for two weeks and underwent enhancements to better meet the unique needs of women facing addiction, mental health challenges, and trauma. With a focus on holistic, evidenced-based care, and a supportive community, we are more committed than ever to helping women reclaim their strength and well-being.
Thank you to the team for stepping outside their comfort zones to embrace the many changes we are embarking on, and thank you to our community who came out to celebrate with us.

We are looking forward to our continued work with MESA, Addiction Treatment Services and Mental Health Services of Renfrew County, Renfrew County paramedics, and all other community services.

The overdose crisis is one of the most serious public health crises our country has ever faced. It is driven by a dangerous illegal synthetic drug supply that is unpredictable and increasingly toxic.
