The mountains of Rogers Pass are powerful and unforgiving.

On March 4, 1910, an avalanche swept over a railway snow-clearing crew, killing 58 men. The force of the slide threw a rotary plow dozens of yards down the track. Only one worker survived, receiving care at Glacier House.

Today we honour the men who lost their lives here and acknowledge the hard lessons learned, lessons that continue to guide avalanche management in Rogers Pass.
