I brought her home during COVID when she was four. I was the only one who wanted her simply as a pleasure horse. No plans, no breeding, just time together. Best decision I made.

Well… we weathered the storm.

Wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be. I mean… we did have to dig out a bit to get out of the house… then dig to get into the barns… but we have had worse. As you can see from the photos shared from 2022, Stewie could barely make it out the door that year. 😂

I wasn’t able to grab any pictures this morning while out and about because I simply do not possess octopus arms... carrying hot water buckets for the animals and beet pulp for the horses takes up both hands (and most of my balance). Add in the blowing snow, and taking photos just wasn’t happening.

But honestly… most of you probably just need to look outside to see exactly what I’m talking about.

The animals are fed, chores are done, and everyone is back to doing what animals do best — eating, lounging, and pretending they didn’t just watch me wrestle snowbanks before sunrise.

Make it a beautiful snow day. ❄️

🐕‍🦺 Dogs are emotional therapists, they would never hesitate to approach you, lick you and accompany you if you feel bad. Your mission may be dedicated to a single person or to an entire group. Many do impressive work with one person or can impact an entire group of people such as a family.

🐕‍🦺 They are energy protectors. They are protective angels that absorb vibrations of imbalance from both you and the places you live in. They are then purged with water, plants and other elements. They sacrifice themselves for you when there are bad energies that can affect you.

🐕‍🦺 They know what their mission is and do not hesitate to protect you from anything. Some sudden deaths or illnesses are due to the strong energies they absorb. A good way to purge that bad energy is by giving them a lot of love.

🐕‍🦺 They choose you. Even when you have the opportunity to “choose” among many puppies, he will approach you and gain your trust and affection so that you select him. And you will know that you have chosen well, but it was not you who chose.

Stewart, our Pitbull, came to us shortly after moving here, after looking and applying to adopt for months.

Daisy, our Pyrenees cross came to use a few years ago from a family moving out of country. She's been great at keeping the wildlife away from the birds.

There’s just something about hockey days in Canada. 🇨🇦

The chores still get done. The animals still get fed. But there’s a little extra buzz in the air… maybe it’s the cold, maybe it’s the rivalry, maybe it’s knowing our team is hitting the ice today.

We’ll be cheering on the Canada men's national ice hockey team as they face off against the United States men's national ice hockey team at the Winter Olympics — and you can bet there will be some red and white around here while we watch.

Farm life doesn’t pause for puck drop… but we might've hustled a little faster this morning. 😉

No matter the score, it’s always something special watching our country come together over the game.
