It’s been a little quiet around here lately. 💛

Life has been a lot these past few weeks, and between family health stuff and trying to keep up with the everyday rhythm of farm life, social media just had to take a back seat for a bit. Some seasons are like that.

But spring doesn’t slow down for anyone around here… and this week brought some beautiful new little lives to the farm. 🐐🌿

Latte welcomed twins, one buckling and one doeling.

And Bella surprised us with triplets. We sadly lost one of the babies, which is never easy, but she’s doing wonderfully with her two little ones, also one buckling and one doeling.

Tiny wobbly legs, sleepy baby snuggles, soft nickers from proud mamas… it’s been a week full of both joy and emotion.

Thank you for sticking around, even when things go quiet here sometimes. We’re still here. Still growing. Still doing our best to find beauty in the middle of messy seasons. 💚

And now for the part everyone actually came for… baby goats. 🐐💚

Yesterday afternoon, I walked out and found Holly like this…

Completely zonked. Eyes closed. Not a single worry in the world.

Horses don’t lay down like that very often. As prey animals, they’re wired to stay on their feet, always ready to move. So when they do fully rest like this… it means they feel safe.

And that’s not something I ever take lightly.

…aaaand then I said her name.

Second photo:

“OH. You’ve been there the whole time?” 👀😄

Back to business. Ears up. Fully alert. Like she definitely wasn’t just passed out in the dirt a second ago.

But for a little while there, she let herself truly rest. And that kind of quiet trust… means everything.

Today is National Doberman Day… and it brings me back.

Long before this little farm of mine, before the gardens and the animals here now… there were Dobermans.

They were part of the rhythm of the farm I grew up on—
always nearby, always watching, always a step behind (or ahead 😄).

I remember their presence more than anything…
that quiet loyalty, the way they seemed to understand everything without needing a word,
and how safe the world felt with them around.

Dobermans aren’t just dogs.
They’re something deeper than that.

And even though there hasn’t been one walking this land (yet)…
a part of me still hopes there will be again someday. 🐾

If you’ve ever loved a Doberman, I’d love to see them…
drop a photo below and tell me their name 💛
