This just in - Sleeping with dentures increase pneumonia risk. According to a recent study published in the American Association for Dental Research, poor oral hygiene is a major risk factor for pneumonia among the elderly. If you are a primary caregiver looking after , remind them to keep their dentures out at night. Dentures should be stored in a glass of water or soaked in a denture cleanser solution to neutralize bacterial accumulation. Read the study to learn more.

A recent study determined that people who wore dentures during sleep were at a higher risk for pneumonia when compared to those who removed them prior to sleep.
