Sleep week!
Here are my top three things that help me get a better sleep.
Number one: I do my best to follow the 3-2-1 Method, makes sure my stomach has time to digest, my bowels to not be active and my mind not jumping focus.

Number two: stretching, whether you do some yoga (love these poses as they ease the back and decrease stress) or just give your body a change to elongate, it works hard for you during a day so care for it.

Number 3: read a good book. I find I spend enough time during the day reading and doing technical things - so I go and find a good book to change the focus of my mind, then it is not racing on work projects or other ideas I have. : )

Energy flows where the mind goes, so if the mind is quiet then energy is quiet and sleep will come.

I found this old quote in my archives and thought it was a good one to impact me for this year.
I read this not to become a leader, I read this to remember to keep the light shining inside of yourself.
If you shine others will shine to, in these times it is easy to be grumpy, complain, and stay in that negative mindset. It is hard with so much negativity around us.
BUT...
If you can shine just a little that light might catch on to someone else and then someone else and so forth.
We need light, and all we can do is try.

Phew! A busy two weeks with traveling and teaching.
A training stop in Ann Arbor to first presentation in Midland, Michigan of Acupressure how it heals and works in martial.
To coming back home and teaching Mindfulness to the Junior students and TaiChi and Qigong to the adults.

Let's Refresh!
Summer is here and I add flavour and fun to my water with different combinations.
Add a few chunks of fruit, a handful of berries or throw in some citrus for a twist. As an extra, I sometimes freeze my fruit.
Here are some of my favourites:
watermelon and lime
strawberry and watermelon
lemon and lime (oldie but a goodie)
mint leaves (give them a crush)
watermelon and mint
raspberries
honey dew melon....
Oh I could go on and on - love having a little flavour and keeping the sugar to a minimum.

How are you keeping cool in these heat waves?
Here are two of my tricks.
I put a cold cloth on the back of my neck, close to the base of my skull.
Or I put my feet in a cool bath - does not have to be icey fresh as long as it is cooler than the outdoors.
Keep hydrated, find shade, take care of yourself in these hot summer days.

Consistency. The word I now feel a better understanding with.

Whether I am working on goals for my business, imputing a new health strategy or finding the right balance of work and play for my mental health, it is about consistency.

Staying on track, being consistent with health, showing up and self care will bring me success. Longterm success.

Longterm success means I feel better, I am happier and stronger - because my consistent approach to my care leads to my personal greatness.
