Do your hips feel stiff every time you stand up? 🙋

You're not imagining it. Tight hip flexors are one of the most common complaints we see at C.E.S. Physiotherapy — and they affect everyone from desk workers to weekend athletes.

Here's what's actually going on:

Your hip flexors are a group of muscles that connect your spine and pelvis to your thigh. When you sit for long periods, they shorten and tighten. Over time, that tension pulls on your lower back, changes your posture, and can cause pain that travels all the way down your leg.

The good news? Most cases are very treatable.

✅ Try this safe stretch at home:

1️⃣ Kneel on one knee (use a mat or cushion)
2️⃣ Shift your weight gently forward until you feel a stretch at the front of your hip
3️⃣ Hold for 20–30 seconds. Breathe slowly. Repeat 2–3 times per side

⚠️ STOP if your pain is above 3/10, or if you feel numbness or tingling. That's your body asking for a proper assessment.
