COVID-19 is in the news everywhere, and we are closely monitoring the situation. We’re reaching out to assure you that you are safe at our clinic.

We already, as a daily practice, assure universal precautions as outlined by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO). Safety is always our number one focus. Our high standard of care ensures that your trust and safety are never compromised.

We are taking extended measures to further protect all our patients and team with the following additional protocols:

We will be pre-screening all patients to their appointment and again at the entrance to the clinic
We require that patients wear a cloth or disposable mask when entering our office and after the appointment when you are interacting in the office area
We will be taking temperature checks for patients and staff upon entry of the clinic
Before your appointment, you have the option to stay in your car instead of the waiting room until we’re ready to seat you in your personal operatory. Simply call us when you arrive, and we will let you know when we’re ready for you.
Upon entering the clinic, you will be asked to sanitize your hands
At the beginning of every appointment, you will be asked to pre-rinse with a hydrogen peroxide mouth wash
Additionally, we are requesting you sanitize your hands before re-entering the office areas
We will be working on a reduced capacity to improve social distancing efforts and enhance the safety of staff and patients. Extra time is scheduled between patients’ appointments to allow thorough cleaning and disinfection of treatment rooms and equipment

You can be assured safety measures at our clinic will continue to evolve as more information develops.
Stay safe.

Dear patients,
Please be advised the dental office will be closed until further notice in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Our governing body, the RCDSO, strongly recommends that all non-essential and elective dental services should be suspended immediately.
Only emergency treatment should continue.
The concern is about keeping dental practices open and putting our patients, communities and staff at risk.
With a spike in new cases and the call for effective social distancing, make it clear that bold action is required.
The College will revisit this recommendation in the first week of April.
If you have a dental emergency please contact our office to arrange for assistance.
We are sorry for this inconvience, and will make further arrangements to reschedule once we receive more information and recommendations.
We will not be in the office so please contact us through our office email, since we will receive email notifications.

Thank you for your understanding.

FLOSS?!?!?
There have been several Canadian news reports about a U.S. story questioning the efficacy of flossing, citing the lack of evidence supporting the practice. The story was initially published by the Associated Press and has been carried by media sources across Canada.
The Canadian Dental Association supports flossing as one step of maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Flossing is an effective preventative measure to remove plaque, the main cause of gum disease. The weakness of the evidence supporting the value of floss in the prevention of gum disease is a reflection of the difficulty of conducting the necessary studies, not of the value of flossing for the maintenance of good oral health.
Brushing, flossing, eating a healthy diet, and seeing your dentist regularly are all steps in preserving a healthy mouth.
