Happy Wednesday!
“Karin, I think I’m failing in my new role.”
That’s what a manager told me last week - after being in the role for just over 6 months.
He’s not failing.
He’s doing exactly what got him promoted.
And that’s the problem.
Most people think a promotion is a reward.
It’s not. It’s a completely different job. 😵💫
📌 Same person.
📌 Same effort.
📌 Same work ethic.
📌 Wrong mindset.
You were promoted for what you did.
You’ll succeed for how you think.
And nobody teaches that part.
So people work harder…
get more involved…
try to prove themselves…
…and slowly become the bottleneck.
Not because they’re not capable.
But because they’re still thinking like a doer.
Promoted… now what?
We just released a new video on this topic, because this is where most leadership journeys either stall or take off.
I invite you to take a look.
