Laser hair removal works by firing lasers at the targeted treatment area. The laser energy is absorbed by melanin, the pigment in hair follicles, and converted to heat energy. This heat energy damages the hair follicle and prevents new hairs from growing back.

Depending on the type of laser used, multiple treatments may be required for optimal results. Each treatment can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour depending on the size of the treated area. After treatment, any existing hairs will fall out within a few weeks or months and should not grow back again.
