Breast cancer doesn’t only affect women.
This week marks Men’s Breast Cancer Awareness Week, a reminder that men, trans men, and non-binary people can also be affected.
📊 Did you know?
⚠ Approximately 270 Canadian men are diagnosed annually

⚠ It is most common in men above the age of 60 and very rarely those under 35

Today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Metastatic breast cancer is an advanced or Stage IV breast cancer. It spreads from the breast to other areas of the body. There isn’t a cure, but thanks to newer treatments, more people with metastatic breast cancer are living longer than ever before. Thousands of men and women are affected each year and it needs more awareness and support.
💡 Key facts:
- About 30% of people with early-stage cancer later develop the metastatic breast cancer
- There is usually no symptoms when the cancer spreads to the liver
- The Survival rate after 5 years of diagnosis is 32% according to research
