Hamilton Village celebrated Wellness Fair with a cozy Pumpkin Patch theme! 🍂🎃🎃🍂

A big thank you to all our wonderful vendors who joined us: Happy At Home Caregiving Services Ltd. Ears To You,Tochtech,Pain Free Health Clinics,HME,Richmond Public Library Leanne(Dental Hygienist), and Pam (Foot Care Nurse). 💛

The day was made even more festive with delicious seasonal treats! We had pumpkin soup, pumpkin curry, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin muffins, and cupcakes! And of course, the vibe wouldn’t be complete without our lovely and amazing music therapist, Max! 🎶💙🧡🧁☕

This celebration was back-to-back with our exciting Bingo Bonanza! We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Jennie, a very generous family member, who donated all of the wonderful prizes Recreation was able to give out. Your kindness made the event extra special for our residents. 💐💖

It’s almost autumn at Hamilton Village! We’ve just harvested our very first batch of pumpkins, planted by our social worker, Andrea, and one of our resident volunteers, Lloyd. Some of these pumpkins will be featured at our upcoming Wellness Fair with a Pumpkin Patch theme, while others will be saved for our Halloween celebrations. A perfect way to welcome the cozy season ahead!🍁✨🎃🍂

On August 19th and 22nd, Hamilton Village residents and families enjoyed some summer fun at McDonald Beach! For some, it was their very first time visiting, while for others it was a wonderful trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the good old days when picnics at the beach were a family tradition. Today, our discussion group at Hamilton Village took a nostalgic trip back to childhood, reminiscing about our beloved teddy bears.

Donna, one of our residents, brought along her own teddy bear named Penelope, a treasured gift from her childhood friend way back in 1965. Holding Penelope in her hands was like holding a piece of her past, filled with precious stories she joyfully shared with everyone.

Reminiscing is more than just looking back. For seniors, it’s a way to reconnect with meaningful moments, share personal histories, and keep treasured memories alive.

A big thank-you to Praneel for being our Teddy Bear mascot, Chef Sean for the delightful bear jello and dried salmon, L&L Bakery for the adorable bear cupcakes, and to our Recreation Team for planning and facilitating the program.

A heartfelt thank you to Elizabeth, a dedicated family member here at Hamilton Village, for generously sponsoring the amazing Portuguese dance troupe led by Antonio who is the President of the Portuguese Cultural Centre and, as we've heard, a true knowledge keeper of traditional Portuguese folk dancing! 🇵🇹💃🕺 Moments like these remind us of the importance of celebrating culture, heritage, and community, all through the universal language of dance.

We celebrated Canada’s multiculturalism in the most delicious way! Hamilton Village is proud to be a home of diverse cultures, and this Canada Day, we shared the joy through food and music.

A big thank you to Chef Sean, Chef Amy, and Chef Tony for the amazing dishes, and to our wonderful staff members who brought in delicacies from their home countries. What a feast it was!
